The shooting location for this time was chosen as a traditional Japanese room featuring sliding paper doors and tatami mats. To match this Azur Lane New Jersey Qipao cosplay styling, we put a lot of thought into the set design. The pink cherry blossom branches in the background, the blue-and-white porcelain vase, and the moss on the ground were all arranged to make the final frame present the most flawless Japanese-style atmosphere.
Let's first talk about the apparel details everyone cares about most. This dark blue sleeveless Qipao cosplay adopts a traditional mandarin collar and golden frog button design, with the sheer black lace paneling across the chest serving as the biggest highlight, retaining the classical charm of the Qipao while adding the character's inherent sensuality and passion. To complement the overall look, I chose semi-sheer black Stockings paired with black high heels featuring golden buckles. This combination visually elongates the leg lines significantly; especially under the high-slit skirt design, the textural contrast between the black Stockings and the dark blue satin is strikingly vivid, offering rich layering. The long black lace gloves on the arms are an indispensable detail, making limb movements appear more slender and refined before the camera.
Regarding props, I used a black folding fan, where the light-colored floral patterns on the fan surface echo the cherry blossoms in the background. The blue annular hair bun on top of my head and the golden branch-and-leaf tiara were positioned through repeated adjustments, striving to faithfully restore a sense of magnificence. The long, blue-gradient streaming ribbons attached to the clothing were a challenge during the actual shoot, requiring dynamic flicking and natural falling to create a breezy, ethereal feel, and the shutter speed had to be perfectly coordinated to capture the most vivid moment.
In terms of pose design, I experimented with multiple angles including sitting, kneeling, and standing postures. Sitting postures better showcase the curves brought by the Qipao's high slit, which, paired with a folding fan half-concealing the face or directional eye contact, can vividly convey New Jersey's temperament of being somewhat aggressive yet undeniably sweet. The lighting on the day of the shoot was fantastic; sunlight filtered through the floral branches onto my face, forming natural mottled light and shadow. I deliberately had the photographer retain this warm-toned light-and-shadow texture so that the subject wouldn't feel disconnected from the background in post-processing.
The overall shooting atmosphere was extremely pleasant, and the coordination with the photographer became increasingly tacit, quickly capturing the desired frames. This photo set can be considered a fairly successful attempt at blending elegance and tension into New Jersey's persona.
