The official photoshoot for Honor of Kings Yaoyao princess in her Realm of Time's Wishes skin is finally complete! Getting straight to the point, let's talk about the preparation and impressions from this shoot. The overall palette of Realm of Time's Wishes is a white-to-purple gradient; to capture that airy magical girl aura, the skirt was layered with multiple tiers of lace and delicate ruffles. When the costume arrived, the details were even more elaborate than I expected—especially the oversized bow on the chest and the metallic star ornament, both boasting solid texture and requiring careful positioning during wear to avoid crooked lines.
Regarding the props, the clear staff was without doubt the centerpiece. The shaft is crafted from acrylic and carries surprising heft in hand, accented with golden stars and curved motifs at the top and bottom. To capture the translucent luster of the acrylic in photos, we specifically had the lighting technician set up rim backlighting. The large star pendant hanging from the staff also had its nuances—slight angle shifts brought out completely different reflective highlights.
For hair and makeup, I wore a light golden wavy wig with trimmed bangs. The eye makeup incorporated purple-toned contact lenses, with sparkling glitter stippled along the lower eyelids; paired with elf wing hair ornaments, it stayed as close as possible to the skin's sacred, ethereal aesthetic. The White stockings were an essential anchor for the whole styling: because the dress cut is quite short, the white stockings flattered leg contours while unifying the overall palette, topped off with white bow-accented shoes and gloves to maximize cuteness.
During shooting, to convey Yao's light, fluttering agility when possessing teammates, the photographer guided me through diverse pose variations: sitting demurely on a chair cradling the staff, striking a dynamic leaping pose on one leg, and interactive shots holding a red envelope toward the camera. The jumping pose was the most challenging to nail, demanding core engagement while utilizing wind blowers to generate kinetic flow across the skirt and wings. Studio lighting tended cool, so to prevent the subject from looking flat, ample bounce reflectors and contour rim lights were employed to bring dimensional depth to the purple-and-white fabrics.
Every time I cosplay Yaoyao, the purest joy comes from stepping into the shoes of someone who wholeheartedly protects teammates. The Realm of Time's Wishes skin carries a dreamy, sacred charm, so before the lens, I kept my gaze lucid and clear while keeping every movement light. The weight of the wig and wings certainly tested my neck stamina, but seeing the graceful airborne results made every ounce of effort worthwhile. The studio featured a black backdrop that contrasted against the luminous colors of the outfit, and during color grading, I deliberately retained that faint, glowing radiance. All in all, it was a thoroughly thrilling photoshoot experience.
