[Ibuki cosplay] Blue Archive: Energetic Sporty Style

Bringing the energetic sporty style of Ibuki from Blue Archive to life was such a fun project. Ibuki's navy blue athletic leotard uniform has that distinct retro charm, centered around the bold white Japanese text 'イチゴ' (strawberry) across the chest. To nail her signature look, I paired the outfit with a radiant golden-yellow twintail wig and black-and-white patterned hair scrunchies, carefully balancing the high pigtails symmetrically. The stretchy fabric hugged cleanly, complemented by knee-high White stockings that offered a comfortable fit while requiring gentle lighting control to avoid glare on camera.

We set the Indoor photography session in a venue furnished with metal lockers, bench seating, and wooden gym vault boxes resembling a school locker room. Blue-and-yellow volleyballs served as the perfect props: lounging on a blue bench hugging one volleyball with a foot propped on another highlighted sleek leg lines and the soft texture of the White stockings. Standing beside the vaulting box with a bright yellow prop water gun added a cheeky spark, while sitting atop the leather-padded box balancing a volleyball on one palm required steady core control.

Balancing physical flexibility in a fitted sports uniform while keeping expressions relaxed was the main challenge. Lightly stepping on the volleyball demanded careful footing and core stabilization, where the weave of the White stockings provided just the right grip. Soft, diffused lighting softened harsh reflections off the metal lockers, ensuring the deep navy blue fabric and pure white highlights popped naturally. This energetic Volleyball Girl look captured Ibuki's youthful, spirited charm with authentic ease.
