[Shirasu Azusa cosplay] Azur Lane: Summer Limited Swimsuit Cosplay Look

The perceived temperature at the Hangzhou CP31 anime convention truly gave everyone a firsthand experience of what a giant steamer feels like—without exaggeration, I practically took a full bath right at the convention venue. Since the post description jokingly referred to 'taking a bath,' I'll follow that joke to share my authentic impressions of presenting this Azur Lane Swimsuit Azusa look.

To be honest, I had prepared myself mentally before coming, as midsummer conventions are always accompanied by sweat and physical challenges. To recreate the character's charm as faithfully as possible, a tremendous amount of effort went into the entire hair, makeup, and styling process from preparation to on-site shooting. For this Shirasu Azusa cosplay, I chose a silver-white wig paired with thick blunt bangs and pale purple contact lenses. To avoid looking overdone, I deliberately took a minimalist approach to the eye makeup while keeping the lip color a natural, healthy rosy shade. The head accessories served as the visual focal point: an eye-catching magenta bow with white polka dots on one side, and a vibrant set of colorful hair accessories featuring orange slices and blue-and-pink ribbons on the other, perfectly fitting the summer vibe.

In terms of costume styling, I selected an off-the-shoulder top with pink edge piping along the neckline, where the pink chest bow formed a striking color contrast against the expansive dark pleated hem. The light-colored pinstriped arm sleeves added layered dimension without feeling overly heavy. The most charming detail was the necklace around my neck—composed of orange-pink beads and a yellow semicircular pendant—which looked remarkably textured under the natural sunlight. If you look closely at the second photo, you will notice I deliberately dusted body highlighter powder across my shoulders and collarbones; under the blazing sun, those delicate shimmering specks looked just like water droplets glistening fresh out of the sea, resonating wonderfully with this swimsuit cosplay theme.

The greatest challenge during the shoot was undoubtedly the sweltering environment. We constantly roamed through the exhibition hall searching for spots, our hair and clothes already drenched in sweat. Yet seeing photographers and fellow creators raising their cameras instantly converted all fatigue into shooting energy. The pose in Photo 2—turning slightly sideways with a hand gently resting near my collarbone—was actually me desperately trying to catch a breeze to dry off the sweat! Despite the grueling conditions, being able to connect and take convention photos alongside so many passionate anime enthusiasts at a bustling event like the CP31 anime convention offered an electric atmosphere that an air-conditioned room could never replicate. Many passersby warmly asked for photos and exchanged compliments on makeup—that is truly the magic of offline conventions.

While this is simply a casual convention log, I personally love the dynamic sunlight in Photo 2; despite the heat, the final results turned out remarkably clear and translucent. Compared to studio shoots, this authentic natural light and shadow brings a vibrant, breathing energy to the images. Portraying Shirasu Azusa this time was not just about checking off a bucket-list shoot, but about bringing this summer-themed character into reality. I hope to have more opportunities to challenge diverse styles in the future.
