Wandering around the Lana Star Comic Convention in this Ice Fairy outfit, the whole shooting process was actually much more fun than expected. This time I brought Cirno, a character everyone is very familiar with from Touhou Project. From the wig styling to every single detail of the costume, I hoped to recreate that lightweight, playful, and agile feeling.

When I initially chose this white and blue outfit, I was attracted by those intricate lace trims and layered ruffles. The layered design of the neckline and skirt hem made the whole look appear full of an airy feel, while that tiny woven ornament on the chest added a perfect richness of detail. To match the character setting, for the headpiece I chose a headband with dangling ribbons. Adding that pair of orange round clear-lens glasses in specific shots gave the overall outfit an extra touch of quirky cuteness, making me look like a lively fairy who is plotting how to cast a wondrous barrier.

The outdoor shoot location was chosen at the wide atrium of the exhibition hall. At that time, the overhead light inside the venue diffused down perfectly, making both the rim light and key light exceptionally soft. Photographer Wakaba's snapshot ability is incredibly precise—especially in that full-body photo where I was standing on one leg while lifting the skirt and waving a magic wand. Coupled with the faint white smoke emanating from above the prop, the entire frame instantly gained a sense of motion and breathability. The pair of ice crystal wings on the back refracted a crisp blue sheen under the exhibition hall's spotlights, creating a very comfortable visual echo with the white-based lace skirt. Although shuttling back and forth in the exhibition hall while wearing geta and knee-high socks was indeed a bit physically draining, every time I saw these convention photos capturing moments that exuded a cool, refreshing vibe, I felt all the running around was completely worth it. This convention wandering experience gave me a more vivid understanding of the character Cirno's presence in a three-dimensional space. Every energetic freeze-frame represents the pure joy brought by fan creations.
