The cut and tailoring of Cartethyia's outfit are truly distinctive: the black form-fitting inner layer creates a striking tactile contrast against the light blue, translucent gauze draping on the outside. To ensure it wore well throughout the convention, I reinforced numerous seams on the inner lining, especially around the leather choker across the chest and the metallic gold hardware, making sure nothing shifted out of place while walking and posing. For the wig, I selected a pale flaxen blonde, styling it with high cranial volume and textured flyaway strands, while the forehead cross insignia and elf ears served as makeup focal points. To recreate her ethereal, vacant gaze, I wore high-saturation blue contact lenses and blended soft pinkish-red eyeshadow along the outer corners of the eyes.

On the day of the convention, I was up at 6 AM doing my makeup, as this set involves incredibly intricate accessories—it took nearly an hour just to get everything fully strapped and put together. Lighting inside the venue was fairly chaotic, requiring constant adjustments to our positioning and reflector angles during the shoot. The streamers on this costume are extremely long and tend to tangle easily when walking, so I had to constantly monitor how the skirt fell to guarantee every frame retained a clean drape. Although walking all day in clear high heels left my feet aching, meeting so many fellow fans who recognized the character at the event made it so warm and rewarding. The vibrant color transitions of this design stood out sharply in the dim halls of the venue. We tried a wide variety of poses, from standing to sitting, putting special emphasis on how the leg lines harmonized with the overall garment. The venue provided ample space, and black-and-white treatment in the background cleanly eliminated distractions, accentuating the costume's silhouette. With all the effort put into hair and makeup alongside careful handling of light and shadow on location, the final convention photos completely lived up to my expectations.

Throughout the session, I explored a wide range of angles—from dynamic full-body frames to intimate close-up portraits—while referencing official character art to refine each pose. Cartethyia possesses a distinct presence that requires balancing the visual weight of the inner structure with the weightless fluidity of the sheer fabric. In behind-the-scenes takes, I experimented with different ways of holding the hem, ultimately settling on a natural, relaxed gesture. The costume is rich in detail, especially the metal chains and tassels, which catch highlights beautifully under convention hall lighting. Even though the venue was crowded and stuffy, the photographer's fast shutter captured plenty of vivid, candid moments. The whole shoot went seamlessly, letting me appreciate how mesmerizing this outfit looks in motion. The indoor lighting setup combined with the venue's dark carpet created an atmospheric, moody backdrop, which, enhanced by post-color grading, gave the entire set an evocative feel. These convention photos reflect my own understanding and expression of Cartethyia; every convention shoot builds up valuable experience, and the texture and visual impact of this costume were definitely worth every bit of polish.

In terms of details, what captivated me most were the delicate white lace and embroidery set against the deep-toned underskirt, creating a rich contrast that popped under the camera flash. To complement the styling, I wore custom light-blue nail extensions to echo the blue accents of the outfit whenever my hands were posed. For footwear, transparent chunky-heeled sandals not only elongated my leg lines but also blended seamlessly into the airy visual aesthetic, avoiding heavy dark shoes that might break the leg's translucent look. While navigating the crowded convention, I deliberately took quieter walkways to prevent the long streamers from being stepped on. Every time I reviewed the raw previews on the camera screen, all the early prep felt entirely worth it. Bringing this look to life gave me fresh insights into wearing and presenting elaborate cosplay outfits. For anyone who loves this design, the real key is capturing that cool yet subtly resilient expression alongside the flowing grace of the fabrics to show your best state before the camera.
