When planning this Carlotta shoot, the first element we locked in was the overall tonal palette and mood. Red velvet drapes paired with the warm amber glow of chandeliers, alongside a vintage brown tufted leather sofa and an antique gramophone, established a dark yet opulent interior that served as the perfect visual canvas. The costume is rich in detail: the red-and-black gown is crafted from a structured, glitter-infused fabric, with ruffled hems and sheer black mesh cuffs layered to create multi-dimensional depth. The blue gemstones across the chest serve as the lone cool-toned accents within this dark ensemble. The wig features sleek silver-white long straight hair, flanked by oversized red ribbon bows angled precisely to the character's design—not only contouring the jawline, but echoing the red wardrobe seamlessly. For makeup, red circle lenses and matching eyeshadow paired with deep crimson lip glaze accentuated her enigmatic mystique.

Throughout the shoot, I explored varied poses to evoke her persona—turning back while cradling a wine glass, or sitting cross-legged on the sofa, all aimed at highlighting her haughty, poised elegance. The slight swirl of burgundy liquid set against black leather gloves was visually striking. Poses lying back while gently biting the glove appeared effortless, yet keeping limbs taut without sagging on an inclined couch proved to be an intense core workout. Selecting the crossed-leg seated shot as the cover image came naturally: this framing not only showcased the gown's architectural cut, but created a harmonious flow between the torso and leg lines, while chunky black block heels carried rich, tactile presence. Bringing Carlotta to life deepened my grasp of her aura—aloof without being hollow, requiring gaze, props, and body language to construct her narrative world. Great care went into every step, from early makeup consultations and styling tests to dialing in angles and strobes on set. The makeup artist kept the base luminous, catching light reflections to sculpt facial planes dimensionally. The lighting setup was thoroughly professional: key lights illuminated the face and arms while warm side rim-lights carved out silhouettes, giving the red background drapes rich depth of field. The entire process was deeply enjoyable and stands as a heartfelt, meticulous creative endeavor.
