[Yachiyo Cosplay] Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Anime-Style Fashion Summer Outfit Sharing

Shooting this set of summer fan-design Swimsuit cosplay photos for Yachiyo was mainly intended to showcase a fresh and crisp side of the character in a beach setting. The white halter swimsuit was chosen deliberately, featuring a subtle cut-out detail in the center so the overall look doesn't feel overly heavy, while appearing clean and sharp against the summer backdrop.

As for the hair, this silver-white wig with pink gradient ends and iconic ring buns on both sides actually demanded a high level of styling precision. After all, winds on an outdoor beach are quite strong; keeping the wig untangled and the buns from collapsing under high heat and winds required securing them beforehand with positioning clips and generous hairspray. Additionally, the straight-bang design paired with light blue contact lenses and thin pink-framed glasses creates an overall visual vibe that is cool yet intellectual, matching my personal interpretation of this fan design wonderfully.

When choosing props for the photoshoot, I focused on pairing the pink plush doll with a colorful inflatable swim ring, along with the straw hat and sunglasses used in the subsequent photos. Props serve as crucial aids for building a vacation ambiance. For instance, sitting poolside with a straw hat on or pushing sunglasses up onto my head naturally brings out that casual summer state. The beach chair and wooden table were also thoughtfully arranged, providing the character with a grounded setting within the frame so the composition doesn't look overly plain.

During the shoot, a primary focus was controlling light and shadow. Sunlight on the beach is extremely harsh; shooting entirely in strong light easily hardens facial features and causes the dimensional layering of light-colored hair to wash out. Therefore, most photos were taken under tree shadows and in partially shaded areas, preserving the skin's fair tone and the wig's highlights naturally while softening the overall image tone significantly. In terms of posing techniques, I tried to stay as relaxed as possible—adjusting my glasses with a hand, resting a hand by my cheek, or sitting on the lounger with legs naturally crossed—actions that convey a comfortable everyday feeling far better than forcing stiff poses.

Unlike more serious original settings in the past, summer-themed cosplay emphasizes freedom and vitality. Placing a unique character like Yachiyo into a swimsuit and beach setting is a fantastic fan-creation experiment. Shedding heavy gear for a sleek white swimsuit accented with colorful props often yields delightfully unexpected results. Additionally, choosing white high-waisted shorts for the bottom half balanced overall body proportions nicely and allowed for more comfortable, effortless posing.

The process of this Beach photoshoot was quite fun. We shot continuously from morning until the sunlight peaked, and every time a satisfying shot was captured, it made all the prep work with costumes, wigs, and props feel completely worth it. Doing cosplay outdoors certainly forces you to confront real-world challenges like heat, lighting, and venue constraints, but that is precisely where the unique charm of outdoor shoots lies. Making good use of ambient light and available props to faithfully express the character's disposition and posture in this setting is the core essence this photo set aims to convey.
