[Luo Xiaohei Cosplay] A Lazy Day at The Legend of Hei 2 Theme Restaurant

A few days ago, I participated in the theme restaurant check-in event for this collaboration, and took the opportunity to dig out the Luo Xiaohei look from my backlog to shoot this set of photos. Back when I finished that headpiece and the overall makeup, I already felt it had a great atmosphere. It just so happened to pair perfectly with the cute food at the theme restaurant, and capturing this moment full of daily life vibes felt exceptionally right.

This white fluffy headpiece is the core soul component of the entire look. The first impression when handling it is that it feels incredibly fluffy, and the internal support is well-made—it doesn't feel stuffy when worn, nor does it block the line of sight due to being too large. The dark eye circles and the green-to-yellow gradient color palette on the edges of the ears visually match the character's features perfectly while adding a touch of rounded, goofy cuteness. When shooting, I deliberately adjusted the angles so that the ears on both sides and the little tuft on top of the head appeared in their most natural state.

For the makeup, because the headpiece covers a large area, I intentionally focused the eye makeup on emphasizing the lower eyelid and the aegyo-sal. I wore light green colored contacts to echo the details on the headpiece and clothing, which beautifully balanced the overall color center of gravity. For the lip color, I chose a matte nude pink to avoid any overly bright color stealing the visual focus from the headpiece and eye makeup, keeping the whole face looking clean and full of breathing room. The base makeup was kept matte and natural; combined with the soft lighting in the restaurant, it truly gave the wondrous illusion of a fluffy elf eating dessert in the human world.

As for the outfit, I chose a very simple, loose black jacket layered over a fluorescent yellow-green undershirt. The black and green color contrast is a common element for the character, so this combination is foolproof while providing a nice brightening effect against the black background. The action of eating ice cream with a spoon was a candid snapshot on site; because there was food as an interactive prop, the narrative and relaxed vibe of the picture flowed naturally. In particular, the black-and-white checkerboard ice cream paper holder was very distinct and eye-catching, perfectly fitting the cute anime-style fashion atmosphere of the entire scene.

Environment-wise, eating in this kind of collaboration theme restaurant is already an immersive experience. On the table were delicate shrimp dumplings, stir-fried rice noodles, and a squid ink drink, along with a massive black plush doll and a chibi acrylic standee keeping me company the whole time. Capturing the joint image of the food items and the character look within the frame makes the composition of the whole photo richer and fuller, pushing the overall atmospheric vibe to the max.

When portraying this character, I aimed for that natural state of effortless relaxation. There was no need to strike complex poses; letting the character's calm, indifferent, yet naturally goofy feeling shine through is the best way to bring it to life. When facing the camera, I opted for a slightly zoned-out look, paired with a subtle expression right after tasting the ice cream—my entire state was relaxed and natural.

There is another point to note when shooting close-ups with a large headpiece: balancing the center of gravity of the composition. To prevent the head proportion from being too large and making the picture look top-heavy, I adjusted the camera angle slightly downward, combined with a slight upward tilt of the head, and used the food in hand as a visual guide, allowing the viewer's gaze to flow naturally between the face, hands, and tabletop. Aside from refining the light and shadow of the raw shot, I didn't add any overly exaggerated filters in post-processing; I only maintained the skin texture and moderately sharpened the texture of the fluffy headpiece. The final output guarantees the integrity of the look without leaving traces of excessive editing.

This style of holding food and capturing a sense of daily life documentation is a format I personally love. There's no need to put on airs; integrating the character into the bustle and warmth of the real world is meaningful in its own right. Posting this set of backlogged photos serves as a casual cosplay record and summary for this theme restaurant check-in.
