[Firefly Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — 6.19 Banner Release Commemoration

June 19 Firefly banner release commemoration: "Memory is the prologue to dreams." Taking advantage of this special day, I completed this set of Firefly cosplay photos for Honkai: Star Rail, and now that the photos are organized, it's time to share them with everyone. Releasing this set right at this point in time feels like a very personal and ceremonial commemoration for me.

Let me start with the costume presentation. The outfit mainly consists of a navy blue sleeveless dress with a wide white ruffle stitched onto the hem, adding a touch of youthful lightness to the lower body silhouette. On top is a short grayish-green jacket with sharp, clean edge tailoring, paired with custom gold double-breasted buttons that add a uniform feel on top of its retro charm. A white shirt sits at the collar, tied with a small blue-and-green tie, creating vivid layering. The black leather belt with a square buckle at the waist serves as the anchor point of the entire ensemble, raising the waistline beautifully. When wearing it, the cut and fit of this Anime-style fashion piece felt fantastic, never looking bulky even while walking around.

Next is the head styling and makeup. The wig features a gradient from white hair to light teal. A color gradient like this can easily look harsh if handled poorly, but when I received it, the hair smoothness and color transition were exceptionally natural. A blue and black hair accessory sits on top of the head, echoing the teal tone of the wig nicely. For makeup, I stayed as close as possible to the character's temperament, adding subtle cool-toned smudging to the eye makeup to retain a cool aura without appearing overly sharp. After putting on the contact lenses, the overall look in my eyes achieved high fidelity.

For the shooting location, I chose a riverside viewing platform at dusk. As city lights began to turn on, lights from the ferris wheel and landmark buildings across the river gradually lit up, which, together with the deep blue night sky, naturally brought a blue hour ambiance. The wind by the water was quite strong, proving to be a double-edged sword during Night photography. On the positive side, natural wind lifted the wide jacket sleeves, even fluttering the skirt hem and hair strands; that randomly captured flow and dynamic energy is hard to replicate completely with fans in a photo studio. However, strong wind also meant the wig was easily blown out of place, requiring frequent pauses to fix it, or even quick instincts to capture the exact split second when the wind blew the hairstyle just right.

Regarding props, I prepared sparklers to add mood accents. While taking the photos holding sparklers, the moment the sparks ignited felt genuinely warm. Those fine, flickering sparks unexpectedly fit the theme "Memory is the prologue to dreams." Holding the sparklers felt like holding a brief yet dazzling dream, which, together with the shimmering city lights in the background, instantly brought the emotional atmosphere into place.

The shooting process went pretty fast, but selecting photos and post-processing required a lot of effort. Because lighting in Night photography is quite complex, we needed to preserve both the deep, dark mood of the night view and the warm light source of the sparkler flames, while ensuring the character's skin tone and clothing colors were not swallowed up by ambient light. The tiny floating light particles in the final photos were specifically added in post-production to enhance a dreamy and nostalgic texture.

Looking back, whether it was the costume's design details or the environment selection for this outdoor shoot, I hoped to better present the Firefly in my heart. Her resilient yet slightly fragile aura kept me in a serious and deeply engaged mindset throughout the shoot. As the shutter clicked, these images truly turned into a memory belonging to the character, as well as an exclusive fragment for my banner release commemoration day. I hope this organized photo set accurately conveys these feelings.
