[Hifumi cosplay] Blue Archive Summer Beach Swimsuit Photoshoot Sharing

This set of Blue Archive Hifumi cosplay works was shot on a seaside beach before sunset. The sea breeze brought a refreshing chill from time to time, making the overall shooting atmosphere highly relaxed.

In preparing the costume, I chose this white two-piece swimsuit with black trim and ruffles. It successfully recreates the character's summer vacation attribute without looking overly heavy. The black straps and bow ties on the swimsuit form an excellent visual focus, but in actual wearing, the ruffle design of this swimsuit is extremely thin and easily flutters in the sea breeze, causing some trouble for snapshots during the beach photoshoot, often requiring me to press the shutter quickly when the wind weakened slightly.

The styling of the head is the core hallmark of the character. A lot of thought went into the replication level of the handmade halo paired with the black circular sunglasses resting on the hair strands. To give the halo a natural floating look and correct perspective in the photos, we deliberately avoided any revealing angles during both set arrangement and post-processing, while enhancing the texture of its reflective material. The light blonde wig was split into twin-tails; under the intense outdoor natural light, the light and dark layers and hair texture required fine adjustments during post-processing.

Regarding prop coordination, I specially prepared a yellow-and-white animal-shaped swim ring and a blue transparent handbag. These props formed an excellent color complement and contrast against the pure white swimsuit, making the entire composition richer and more aligned with the everyday feel of a seaside holiday. Body movements like sitting on the sand or holding the swim ring all strive to express this lazy and casual character temperament.

The lighting on the shooting day was actually highly unstable, with sunlight coming and going. To present Hifumi's slightly dorky yet extremely cute trait, I tried my best to keep my expression management natural and relaxed, without forcing exaggerated expressions. In terms of action design, whether it was running a hand through my hair with one hand, lifting one leg to look into the distance, or finally sitting on the beach leaning against the props, it was all to give the character's posture a sense of breathing room within the large outdoor scene.

Regarding the post-processing mindset, since natural light by the sea is translucent but can easily lead to uneven lighting on the face or overly harsh rim light, I spent a massive amount of energy balancing light and shadow. While maintaining a high level of transparency, I optimized the transition between highlights and shadows to prevent the frame from showing intense dead whites or dead blacks. Targeting the transparent material of the handbag, the highlights of the metal halo, and the plastic texture of the animal swim ring, I used layers for targeted texture reinforcement. Although these tiny details are inconspicuous, they determine the visual completion level of the entire work.

Overall, this seaside cosplay outdoor shoot, with the coordination of props and scenes, presented a refreshing and natural summer feel. Although the photo retouching process was tedious, the final result is highly satisfying.
