[Yato Kukuru Cosplay] Select Oblige: First Experience in the Fitting Room

I received the 996 marriage application, but let's put on this outfit first to see how it looks. The main star of this fitting session is Yato Kukuru. This uniform style featuring a navy pinafore dress is considered a highly classic variation among the many school uniform designs in Galgame.

Starting with the overall look, the long pink hair is the character's signature feature. I intentionally chose a style with slightly curled ends, tied into small twin tails with black hair ties on both sides, which, combined with the striking yellow star hair accessory on the side of the head, offers highly prominent visual recognizability. This combination provides a certain level of tolerance for hairstyles and face shapes; with just a bit of adjustment, it easily sustains the character's lively vibe.

The upper body inner layer is a well-fitting pure white shirt. The collar design is very proper, and after tying the bright red bow tie, the overall color tone instantly brightens up. This three-color contrast of white, red, and navy is an absolute evergreen in school-style styling. The shirt size is just right for me, giving no feeling of tightness around the arms and shoulders, making movement relatively easy so that I can conveniently strike various poses later on.

The navy pinafore dress on the outside features a V-shaped contrast collar on the chest and a double-breasted horizontal button design, echoing sailor uniform elements while adding a bit of layering with a small stand-up collar. The skirt hem is pleated, finished with bright yellow and black horizontal lines at the edges, which increases the clothing's dimensionality and prevents the large area of deep blue from looking dull. The length of the skirt hem is roughly at the mid-thigh, a length relatively common in cosplay outfits, capable of both showcasing leg lines and appearing highly energetic.

The white socks with pink horizontal striped over-knee design paired on the lower body can be called a major highlight of this outfit. The color forms an echo with the hair color, looking exceptionally refreshing visually without feeling abrupt. Since I paired it with black thick-soled glossy loafers, the white-and-pink socks and black shoes form an excellent visual separation, making the leg shape look quite straight. The advantage of these shoes is that they don't tire the feet; though the soles have thickness, wearing them for a long time won't make the soles of the feet ache, making them highly suitable for prolonged standing and walking during conventions or indoor shoots.

Regarding shooting poses, I chose actions like placing both hands on hips and slightly lifting the skirt hem, including the pigeon-toed standing pose in picture two with both hands brought together under the chin. These are all classic anime-style cute movements. Paired with the white wig and high-saturation hair accessories, the output effect turns out quite pleasing. In picture two, slightly folding the arms across the chest, paired with the small movement of one leg resting slightly back, effectively increases the frame's sense of gravity.

Regarding the fact that I used fan-made sticker emotes to obscure my face in the images, it is because during the fitting stage, expression management is often not quite in place yet. Releasing the full face directly might appear a bit constrained; it's better to decorate it with these facial emotes bearing 2D traits. This conversely fits the inherent atmosphere of Galgame unexpectedly well, creating a powerful filter of flat illustrations stepping into the 3D world. In the pictures, I also deliberately added the character's chibi illustration and half-body art to enrich the overall visual elements, creating a look resembling a game UI or a scrapbook layout.

Speaking of the word "marriage application" at the beginning of the post, it truly fits the meme-heavy atmosphere within the theme of Select Oblige. Putting on these clothes and immersing into the character's personality, this slightly tsundere and proactive statement is indeed a part of the character's charm. Granted, as a fitting room sharing post, my personal focus remains on the outfit's restoration accuracy and wearing experience.

Actually, the texture of this costume is very good, without those issues like fabric reflection or rough craftsmanship that easily appear in cheap cosplay clothes. The red bow tie straps on the chest are very convenient, allowing for free tightness adjustment. The shape of the skirt holds up quite well; even without wearing an extra petticoat, a distinct pleated effect can be seen, which is highly friendly to many beginners who aren't skilled at using petticoats.

For the shooting environment, I chose a minimalist pure-color background consisting of a white wall and a white plush carpet. This lighting layout can reduce color interference, maximizing the prominence of the character subject and the design details of the clothes themselves. Under this clean light, the navy blue appears very steady, and the color restoration of the pink wig and hair accessories is also relatively high, leaving the bright lines clearly visible.

Finally, to sum up this fitting experience: the whole outfit coordination—white shirt + red bow tie + navy pinafore dress with yellow lines + pink-and-white striped over-knee socks + black loafers—boasts a highly powerful sense of overall visual unity. It both preserves the school-style characteristics of the original Galgame while balancing the vibe of Anime-style fashion. If you want to go to a convention or an outdoor shoot, this lightweight outfit won't bring an excessive burden, and the fabric breathability and skin-fitting level are both pretty good. As a dress-up fitting session, the successful restoration of Yato Kukuru's image leaves me highly satisfied, sparking my interest in cosplaying more characters from the same work in the future during this Yato Kukuru cosplay.
