[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Engraving Memories, Dedicated to You Who Trailblaze the Future

This set of makeup test photos was actually an unexpected natural outcome of the shooting process. The original plan was simply to test the fit of the wig and costume, but the more we shot, the more I felt this state was worth documenting, so I decided to present it as Part 3. Many asked why I took so many photos during a makeup test—truth is, facing different lighting setups and prop combinations in the studio brought out various emotional facets of the character, making me press the shutter repeatedly and resulting in this unexpectedly rich photoset.

Let's start with the makeup and wig styling. White hair and pink pupils are very prominent visual anchors for this character. To recreate that lightweight, fluffy effect, we made many structural reductions in trimming the wig layers, removing excess volume to give the hair a breezy, airy feel. Securing the white circular halo and hair accessories on top required some extra effort to ensure it didn't look out of place during movement. For eye makeup, I experimented with a slightly downturned fox-eye style paired with purple-pink contact lenses, attempting to capture an aura hovering between innocence and tranquility on camera. The Elf ears cosplay application felt very natural without visible seams.

The layering of the costume was truly a major highlight of this makeup test. The main color palette transitions from pure white to light purple and deep blue, offering rich visual depth. The off-the-shoulder and midriff-baring cut of the upper top is sleek and light, flattering the neck and shoulder proportions. The skirt design is exquisitely detailed: the outer layer uses a matte white fabric, while the inner lining is paneled with abundant blue-purple semi-transparent tulle. Under studio lights, this Dreamy dress material exhibits a dreamy, flowing drape. When walking or squatting, the skirt and trailing tulle behind spread out naturally, conveying a fluttering, ethereal grace that I was eager to capture. Though small details, the white openwork armguards and knotted wrist cords beautifully contour the arm lines and enrich overall visual balance.

In this photo set, I experimented with several prop combinations. The giant crescent staff was one of the visual focal points, its white material shimmering brilliantly under rim lighting. Drawing the gradient silver-white and purple longbow required significant body balance, needing to stabilize the bow arms while ensuring a beautiful, taut bowstring effect. The shot holding the spellbook and quill was another exploration, aiming to evoke the focused tranquility of a spellcaster chanting. This transition from combat posture to quiet reading posture completed the integrity of this makeup test, showing both the character's strength and literary elegance.

Regarding shooting and post-processing color grading, I preferred keeping a neutral grey background instead of cluttered scenes that steal the spotlight. A pure, sophisticated grey backdrop highlights the character's ethereal quality and intricate costume details. The advantage of a Studio photoshoot share environment lies in light control—whether it's the soft overhead lighting layer or dimensional side shadows, everything serves the character's narrative. Though still in the prep stage, the studio atmosphere authentically rendered the character's intended mood. Unforced yet focused—that was the mindset behind this shoot. Makeup tests are often the least burdensome phase because you aren't strictly chasing film-level recreation, but rather relaxing into the character's essence and finding harmony with the outfit. For me, every makeup test deepens my understanding of the character. These eight photos are memories from a moment in time, and I hope these lights and shadows convey the unique serenity embedded in this look to everyone viewing.
