[Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay] Rhythmic Moments in a Pink Fairy Tale Style

I just finished editing a set of Cheshire Cosplay convention photos taken at the venue. This time I tried a pink-themed look, which I feel fits perfectly with the sweet atmosphere of her original in-game design.

Actually, the preparation process for this shoot was quite long. The ruffles and 3D flower decorations on the dress require a very precise fit when putting it on; a slight mishap can easily make it look bloated. This time, I deliberately made the sleeves detached puff sleeves. Combined with two long, semi-translucent pink streamers, they create a very strong visual sense of movement when walking around the venue or doing spinning motions. My favorite part is the layered tailoring of the skirt hem—it doesn't feel heavy at all, but rather looks extremely light and ethereal on camera.

As for the hairstyle and hair accessories, I went with blue highlights paired with straight bangs, topped off with a quite heavy, large pink bow ornament. During the photoshoot, under ample indoor light sources, the overall color contrast was just right; the cool-toned industrial ceiling in the background formed a very striking contrast with my pink-themed outfit.

The lighting at the venue on the day of the shoot was actually quite complex, with very dense grid-like overhead lighting and a highly reflective dark floor material, which really tested the photographer's lighting control. Being able to capture photos with such a relatively soft texture was the result of collaborating with the lighting partner on-site for a long time. I also want to praise the white over-knee high socks and thin high-heeled sandals with roses worn this time. They elongated the leg lines in the composition, especially at that frozen moment when one leg was raised; the flowing sense of the skirt hem and ribbons created a strong ethereal feel typical of anime cosplay.

Every time I cosplay a character that requires a lot of ruffles and long streamers, my biggest worry is the skirt tangling or stepping on the dress, so I have to be extremely careful when posing. Fortunately, the final output turned out quite well; with the flowing pink tulle and delicate makeup, I'm quite satisfied with the overall vibe.

I think the most interesting part of cosplay is not just getting close to the character in appearance, but also conveying the unique agility of the character through the outfit and demeanor. Although the makeup and clothing details were very complex this time, I care more about my immersion within the character's state rather than just outputting photos. Walking through the exhibition hall in this outfit truly felt like walking into a fairy tale world; people were passing by all around, but dressed like this, I felt as if I had instantly jumped out of a dimensional rift.

The shooting environment this time was a relatively open indoor space. Although the background was a bit cluttered, the slight shallow depth of field blur effect allowed the visual focus to concentrate entirely on the person. Preparing this gear took quite a bit of mental and physical effort, but the moment the final product was finished, I felt all the hard work was worth it. Because I am a total detail freak, I had to repeatedly adjust the small flowers on the headpiece, the lace edging on the cuffs, and even the position of the flowers on the shoes.

Looking back at my state on the day of the convention, the weather was actually quite hot. Although there was air conditioning indoors, wearing this heavily crafted outfit still felt a bit stuffy. However, standing in front of the lens, I felt I could maintain my condition quite well. I think this is exactly the meaning of doing cosplay—being able to recreate that beautiful anime cosplay atmosphere in front of the camera through things prepared with my own hands.

Every time I finish a shoot and pack up my gear, seeing the mountain of clothes and props leaves me physically exhausted but mentally fulfilled. This set of photos can be considered one of my recent representative works; using pink and blue as the main visual pairing is indeed very eye-catching. I hope to try more of this cheerful and bright cosplay style in the future, or recreate some even more gorgeous dresses, continuously discovering new joy in the process of portraying characters.
