The early preparation took quite a long time—especially the headwear; beyond the large pink ribbon bow, there are small hair ornaments atop the head, each needing meticulous fastening.
Let's talk about the costume first in this Cosplay outfit sharing. The thin black straps at the collar and the black criss-cross harness across the chest demand high tailoring precision, as the slightest oversight makes it look bulky. Fortunately, this custom piece fit very snugly. The blue choker features a metal ring with dangling gold chains, adding rich layers. The loose pink outer coat has white plush faux-fur trim on the cuffs; this material contrast looks delightfully fluffy and cute on camera.
The lower body's black-and-white color-blocked miniskirt features white ruffle trimming along the hem, creating dynamic layers when moving. In a standing pose, paired with glossy black high heels, the overall proportions are lengthened beautifully, making the legs look slender.
I initially thought the crescent staff prop would be the trickiest part. The shaft is metallic silver, while the top combines a crescent moon, a red star, and a purple orb—it's quite hefty in hand. During the shoot, I had to constantly adjust my grip point to hold it single-handedly while maintaining a relaxed and natural posture, which truly tested arm strength.
For hair and makeup, to recreate the character's features, I selected bright blue contact lenses. This color gave the eyes a crystal-clear, translucent look and made the overall styling stand out. The Pink wig is a light pastel pink, a shade prone to looking synthetic, so I spent a lot of time combing and shaping the hair flow before shooting to ensure the bangs and side tendrils had natural, fluffy volume.
The set design was styled in a dreamy pink-and-white aesthetic. Pink reflective foil covered the floor, complemented by white velvet cloth, abundant floral arrangements, and draped tulle curtains. When lighting, special care was required to prevent the foil from casting glaring hotspots. The studio's Roman pillars also served as great background props, evoking a soft, magical ambiance.
When shooting the first seated shot, the goal was mainly to showcase upper-body details: the red fingerless gloves are very striking in the frame, pairing with the semi-sheer white tulle sleeves to create richer visual layering.
The shooting day was incredibly hectic—not only keeping the staff prop from slipping or tilting, but also constantly minding the draping between the skirt and coat while seated to avoid looking bulky. Although the reflective foil on the floor looked gorgeous, it was rather slippery, requiring steady balance during standing poses.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with how the photo set turned out, marking the completion of an intensive studio shoot. Documenting these styling and prop details felt truly rewarding in this Anime cosplay journey, making it a rare and memorable experience.
