Shooting this everyday look of Brief from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is all about a utilitarian workwear street style. I didn't purposely go for a grand studio set; instead, I just caught a moment when the shopping mall had nice natural light, trying to present his casual and slightly cocky boyish energy from the most authentic perspective. The orange short hair wig was thinned out a bit and styled into a messy look, retaining a frizzy texture. Paired with the overall khaki casual jacket and matching cargo pants, it instantly brought out that lazy and carefree vibe.

The accessories on the body are truly the soul of this look. The light grey over-ear headphones hanging around my neck were specially found to match the texture of the character's iconic gear. The corrugated hose wiring on the backpack was a major project, and carrying it around in a bustling shopping mall environment like this definitely turned a lot of heads. The most eye-catching feature is the large yellow smiley face pasted on the grey backpack, which adds a perfect visual centerpiece to the overall dark workwear color palette. The red prohibition symbol circular badge on the left arm, along with the two matte-textured circular badges hanging on the chest—these layered details prevent the outfit from looking too plain.

Unlike shooting those hardcore combat suits, the biggest feeling while wearing this outfit is "relaxation". While walking around the mall, there's absolutely no need to strike any exaggerated poses. Those pictures of me sitting on the ground were actually taken when I got tired; I just found a corner with a white mall wall and sat down to rest completely off-guard, or curled up my legs while holding the plastic bag prop, looking down and spacing out. This inadvertently revealed laziness feels closer to the character's true personality than intentional posing. The color-blocked blue-grey canvas shoes with white laces on my feet also add a touch of retro sporty vibe to the overall color scheme.

Attempting to integrate cosplay into a modern shopping mall environment this time was a small challenge to break the dimension wall. For the full-body photo next to the escalator, I deliberately chose a wide-angle perspective with a bit of perspective distortion to make me look even more casual. The RIMOWA storefront sign in the background and the metallic lines of the mall perfectly formed a natural geometric cut in the frame, giving the image a greater sense of space. No excessive filter adjustments were made in post-processing, mainly preserving the original matte fabric texture of the clothes and the layered sheen of the orange wig.

For a character with such a strong personal style and casual wear traits, instead of over-pursuing a perfect recreation of a combat stance, capturing his relaxed, lazy, and even occasionally slightly gloomy yet charming demeanor in a daily life setting feels much more aligned with my understanding of the work. I hope this set of photos taken in a real-world shopping mall allows everyone to feel the character's unique, undefined sense of freedom.
