For this Sone Miyuki cosplay shoot from You and Me and Her: A Love Story, I wanted from the very start to make some unconventional visual attempts. The core of Sone Miyuki's character lies in her extreme obsession and a chilling sense of control that sends shivers down one's spine. Therefore, after locking down the foundation of purple hair and red eyes, I poured immense effort into makeup, especially the eye makeup. Pairing dark eyeshadow with red colored contact lenses gave my gaze an inescapable, piercing stare whenever looking into the lens.

For the costume, I selected her classic white Sailor suit paired with a soft yellow knit cardigan. The collar lines of the Sailor suit and the black necktie needed to be neatly smoothed out to accentuate that rigid, model-student demeanor. I specifically chose a cardigan with a finer knit texture that draped with a hint of casual ease, creating a subtle contrast against the strict rigor of the Sailor suit. The knife pleats of the skirt were also pressed carefully, striving for the cleanest possible texture against a pure white background. Without any extra handheld props, I chose to cross my arms over my chest and slightly hunch inwards; this body language felt both like defending against outside intrusion and keeping dangerous, pent-up emotions tightly contained within.

The shoot took place against a pure white studio background with bright, flat lighting; this ultra-clean light allowed every color to stand out vividly. In my performance, I intentionally minimized exaggerated motions, relying primarily on subtle head tilts and direct, unwavering eye contact to convey the character's overwhelming pressure. Portraying a character with psychological horror and yandere attributes cannot rely solely on cute expressions—it demands projecting a fractured dissonance that appears delicate and vulnerable on the surface while deeply, obsessively unhinged underneath.

The post-production phase was where the most dedication went into this cosplay. To convey the unique, fourth-wall-breaking blend of reality and virtuality emblematic of a Galgame, after discussing with the editor, we decided to overlay a semi-transparent 2D illustration silhouette on the right side of the photo, complemented by horizontal chromatic glitch style color blocks. This pixel-shifted glitch treatment concretely expressed the character's unstable oscillation between digital programming and reality, as well as the haunting sense of a dual gaze that satisfies two conflicting desires simultaneously.

The entire project took about two weeks from makeup tests to final post-production, iteratively fine-tuning the opacity of the illustrated overlay to ensure the real facial features and emotions weren't overshadowed by the visual effects. Whenever portraying a character with such profound psychological depth, it requires immersing oneself deeply into those suffocating, obsessive emotions before gradually releasing them through the lens. That exact intensity is what gives Galgame characters their singular allure in the realm of cosplay.
