Pulling this long-stored JK uniform from the depths of my closet finally brought Hatsune Miku's classic aesthetic together. The Sailor suit design is crisp and sleek: a cropped white shirt paired with a dark pleated skirt, accented by a soft cyan-blue necktie at the collar and detailed badges adorning the chest and sleeves. Because of the cropped cut, it naturally raised the waistline; combined with black Over-the-knee socks and platform leather shoes, the overall silhouette looked wonderfully elongated. The crossbody techwear bag not only echoed the dark palette of the outfit but also provided an organic resting point for hand gestures, effortlessly solving the dilemma of where to place my hands while posing.

Styling the hair and makeup took considerable time. Hatsune Miku's signature Twintails wig carries tremendous volume; combing it smooth while preserving airy fullness requires patience, and the angle of the hair clips had to be adjusted repeatedly—placing them too far forward made the head look top-heavy, while setting them too far back tugged awkwardly on the wig cap. To embrace the anime character design, I chose vivid blue contact lenses, deepened reddish-pink shading around the eyes, and maintained soft blush across the cheekbones and nose tip, ensuring the face held healthy warmth and dimensional clarity even under cool studio lights.

This shoot was another collaboration with Aki, and the biggest advantage of a studio environment is total control over illumination. We chose a clean light-blue backdrop that created subtle visual layering with the wig and costume. To prevent stiff poses, I explored fluid, interactive movements. To match the 2D anime vibe, I chose bright blue contact lenses, deliberately deepened the reddish-pink shading in the eye makeup, and kept blush on the nose tip and cheeks. This way, even under cold studio lights, my face retains good color and dimension.

The sitting pose focused on using the bag and arms to form a stable triangle, giving the composition an open feel. The long Twintails are quite heavy, so when turning or moving, cleverly using inertia gives the hair a natural flutter, making these snapshots look the most vivid.

I initially thought bringing out clothes that had been tucked away for so long might look dated, but with the right styling, thoughtful lighting, and deliberate posing, the final results were truly beyond expectations. Occasionally digging out old outfits and recomposing them with new shooting ideas always brings unexpected surprises—which is probably the real fun of cosplay.
