This shoot featuring Cheshire's kindergarten skin took quite a while to prepare. From the moment I received the costume, I was constantly contemplating how to naturally translate Cheshire's playful and clingy personality into three dimensions. The cut of the dress is loose and breezy, with the pale blue sailor collar naturally evoking a sense of sweet innocence, while the oversized black bow and golden bell on the chest serve as the key visual anchors. For the wig, I specifically chose a silver-grey bob styled with subtle blue gradient tips. Sculpting that fluffy yet slightly untamed cat-ear texture took significant dedication. The white lace headband at the crown and the cat-ear pieces on both sides had to be fastened securely with ample pins to ensure they wouldn't shift or tilt when walking around outdoors.

The weather on shoot day was spectacular with bright, ample sunlight, which was wonderfully forgiving for showcasing light-toned pastel garments. We chose an outdoor recreational playground with amusement facilities, where a massive white circular hoop swing proved an absolute match for the outfit's aesthetic. Sitting inside the ring required constant adjustments: because the hoop naturally sways, I had to engage my core and waist muscles to stabilize my center of gravity while keeping my facial expression relaxed and limb lines gracefully extended. Photographer Jiang Shujian was fantastic at framing light and shadow, having me use the circular ring as a foreground frame to infuse the composition with remarkable depth and spatial dimension.

Speaking of props, the bright yellow plush chick and matching crossbody bag were the absolute soul of the look. The plushie's expression was delightfully derpy, instantly adding humor and whimsy whether placed beside me on the ground or tucked underfoot. Throughout shooting, I explored countless little nuances—pretending to be captivated by the toy or striking exaggerated stretching poses—to channel Cheshire's eccentric, mischievous nature. Running around outdoors in this outfit got quite warm, especially beneath the wig and long sleeves, but seeing the final frames made every bit of effort well worth it.

In terms of acting and emotional expression, Cheshire's core appeal lies in her interactive warmth. Rather than being aloof, she is brimming with approachable friendliness and cheeky charm. Facing the camera, I made a conscious effort to establish engaging eye contact and weave in delicate micro-movements, like twirling my hair, stretching languidly, or zoning out with a dazed stare. This kindergarten theme allowed me to tap into an extra layer of innocent nostalgia and relaxed ease. During post-production curation, I prioritized those spontaneous, organic moments.

This outdoor session also gave me fresh insights into working with natural sunlight. Harsh, direct daylight tends to magnify fabric wrinkles and texture flaws, requiring meticulous garment steaming prior to shooting. Meanwhile, employing a bounce reflector proved crucial for casting soft fill light across my face, keeping skin tones translucent and luminous. I hope everyone browsing this set can feel the pure joy and bubbly vitality that Cheshire the cat brings to life.
