[Kashino Cosplay] Azur Lane Port's Afternoon Tea and White Dress

The layering of this Kashino costume is quite intricate. To faithfully recreate the design from Azur Lane, I mainly spent time before the shoot adjusting the fullness of the skirt support and securing the bell at the neckline. After all, this white Western-style dress features delicate lace and pleats, and if the details aren't carefully styled, it easily looks flat on camera.

The weather on the day of the shoot was pleasant, with soft natural light. To complement the white backdrop and purple bouquet, we used high-key lighting and filled in facial light with reflectors. Since the surroundings were predominantly white, exposure control had to be handled with care, aiming for an airy, dreamy translucency without deliberately darkening any areas.

As for pose design, the afternoon tea setting is particularly suited to showing the quieter, gentler side of the character. Holding the bouquet in hand or lifting the teacup, I adjusted my wrist angles to flatter the arm lines. For the over-the-shoulder glance photo later in the set, careful attention was paid to the twist of the waist, which allowed both the large bow on the back to be displayed and the flared shape of the supported skirt and leg lines to appear natural. In terms of facial expression management, matching this white-and-purple palette called for a softer, slightly relaxed gaze.

This photo set avoided overly cluttered backgrounds because the classical white carved motifs and tea set already provided ample elements; adding more props would only distract from the main subject. Post-processing mainly focused on color grading—preserving the clean crispness of the whites while tuning purple saturation so the subject blended harmoniously with the ambient colors. Additionally, the horn accessories and custom purple ribbons were specially made according to the setting, requiring attention to balance and stability when worn.

During the shoot, because the dress was long and fitted with a petticoat, sitting on the sofa and moving around was quite clumsy, relying on the photographer's guidance for positioning. The entire process depended on repeatedly adjusting poses for candid captures, especially since white garments are extremely sensitive to shifts in lighting.
