For this shoot of Cheshire from Azur Lane, a great deal of thought went into recreating everything from the costume to the makeup and hair. The wig was specially toned with that cyan-blue gradient hair color, paired with a pink and white Lolita-style dress. The multi-layered lace and hand-sewn three-dimensional rose petals give the entire look a princess-like refinement while retaining Cheshire's unique playful aura. In terms of props, a wooden folding fan and extended semi-transparent pink gauze were used during the shoot to create a flowy sense of movement; the draping effect of the gauze was a huge plus, especially when sitting on a high stool or leaning against the moon lamp. For the set design, a giant glowing full moon was used as the primary light source, paired with a large area of simulated cherry blossom branches to build a midnight fantasy environment. The photographer used high-brightness soft light throughout the session to illuminate the face, making the skin tone translucent while darkening the background to highlight the main subject. The details of the white thigh-highs and lace leg rings outlined beautiful lines under the side-backlight. This set of works took about four hours from makeup finalization to the actual shoot, but seeing that gentle yet slightly mysterious ethereal feel in the final photos makes me feel everything was completely worth it. The pink-themed cosplay genuinely stimulates the girlish heart, and Cheshire's character fits perfectly with this lightweight and sweet visual tone.
