[Li Sushang cosplay] Heroic Stance Wielding a Long Sword: Recreating the Swordsman Charm of Honkai Impact 3rd

This photoshoot features a finished set of Li Sushang cosplay from Honkai Impact 3rd. Pre-shoot preparation focused primarily on the costume details. The cut-out structures around the waist and chest are relatively intricate; smoothing the cords and adjusting the fabric's drape took considerable time to ensure no unwanted wrinkles appeared whether standing or sitting. Managing the reddish-brown wig alongside the blue and white hair accessories on both sides required finding just the right angles to avoid blocking my vision. The prop sword was heavier than anticipated; holding standing poses required continuous arm exertion, leaving my shoulders aching over time. Furthermore, because the blade has a reflective surface, angles had to be constantly tweaked to capture a crisp blue-and-white sheen. For this environment, high-contrast hard lighting was used to accentuate the silhouette. While the sitting pose in Photo 2 looks relaxed, coordinating the position of the leg ring and skirt hem required half-kneeling on a white cushion—putting intense pressure on my knees—and it took several adjustments of the leg angle to finally achieve smooth lines. Later, we also attempted a high-angle shot with the sword tip pointing directly at the lens, which tested arm stability tremendously; to work with the shallow depth-of-field blur, I had to extend the sword forward while keeping it rock steady. The blue jacquard patterns on the garment and the neckline details popped vividly under the strong illumination. Post-processing was kept minimal, mainly preserving natural skin texture along with the authentic light and shadow on the costume. To embody the character's brisk, poised swordsman demeanor, I exercised precise control over my expressions and movements, including dynamic snapshots of hair flips, which required repeated trials in tandem with the wind's direction to capture the kinetic tension of hair strands and ribbons. Overall, this set captured the fidelity of costume, makeup, and props as well as dynamic motion quite well, making for a very smooth photoshoot experience.
