For this Azur Lane Amagi wedding dress cosplay photoshoot, from fitting to the final photos, preparations took almost a month. The design of this wedding gown is very exquisite, with a white main color scheme paired with a large amount of translucent mesh and lace. The most notable thing when wearing it is how closely the waistline tailoring fits, and the mermaid skirt hem needs to maintain a crisp shape at all times, so the inner petticoat had to be adjusted many times. The white three-dimensional roses on the chest and waist, the pearl necklace, and the black bow at the neckline—these details were repeatedly confirmed with the photographer during makeup styling because the reflection effects under different angles are completely different.
Wig styling is another major focus. To restore the character's hairstyle, the stray hairs at the edges were trimmed very finely, coupled with that pair of dark brown and white-lined animal ear headbands; the weight on the head increased significantly after wearing them. To ensure the veil wouldn't be propped up into a weird arc by the ears during the shoot, we used many invisible hairpins to secure it between the headband and the veil. For makeup, blue contact lenses and a cool-toned base were used, matching the natural light filtering through the stained glass windows of the scene, bringing out the overall atmosphere very quickly.
The indoor studio set naturally brings a sense of sacredness and tranquility, featuring arched stained glass, white Roman columns, and yellow candles lit everywhere. During the shoot, we used a lot of backlighting to shine through the thin gauze, making the gown's silhouette look exceptionally soft. In terms of pose guidance, I tried my best to keep myself relaxed yet maintaining posture. For example, in the cover photo, when lifting the veil with both hands, the arm muscles were actually tense all along, needing to control the gauze's arc while keeping my gaze straight into the lens, showcasing a quiet yet firm aura. In the set of pictures lying on the plush cushion, the skirt hem needed to spread out like water ripples, and the curve of the shoulders also required attention; a slight slack would cause the overall lines to collapse.
Throughout the entire shooting process, what consumed the most physical stamina was actually maintaining balance in high heels on hard ground, while also ensuring the wide sleeves wouldn't catch on the floral props nearby. The blue and purple flowers arranged on site formed a great color echo with the white gown in the lens. Through this shoot, I gained a deeper understanding of wedding dress clothing with a wedding dress theme, from adjusting wearing comfort to the expressiveness of the lens—every single link required precise control. I hope everyone will like this Azur Lane Amagi wedding dress oath presentation brought this time.
