These Cosplay convention photos feature the cheongsam look of Cheshire from Azur Lane. Even though the Commander always says Cheshire is like a cat, in the official setting Cheshire really isn't a cat! Still, this outfit truly incorporates a ton of cute cat-inspired design elements. Paired with White stockings and a high-slit cheongsam, the gap moe is maxed out. From the costume and props to the wig, I put a tremendous amount of effort into getting ready before hitting the floor, hoping to express Cheshire's playful and charming aura live at the convention.

The light ice-blue one-piece cheongsam is the visual centerpiece of this look. The halter neck and high mandarin collar retain the traditional charm of a cheongsam, while bold cutouts across the chest and abdomen, combined with the shimmering ice-blue fabric, produce an exceptional texture under the venue lighting. The extensive metallic gold vine embroidery significantly elevates the sophistication and luxury of the dress. The oversized white faux fur shawl is a huge bonus—not only keeping me warm but also adding a wintery, elegant ambiance that makes the look feel delightfully fluffy and approachable.

For the wig, a grayish-purple base paired with highly distinctive bright blue highlights, topped with a wide-brimmed hat featuring white lace and blue ribbons, resulted in a very fluffy and natural hairstyle. When taking Cosplay convention photos, the biggest fear is a flat or messy wig. Fortunately, the styling held up well this time—the weight of the wide brim and the layered highlights translated beautifully on camera. The makeup also leaned heavily into the character's moe aesthetic: a clear base, vibrant eye makeup, and blue contact lenses, hoping to give everyone a delightful anime-inspired surprise.

During the shoot, we made use of some on-site photography equipment and props. The first shot, where I'm seated on a black tall folding stool with crossed legs, is actually my favorite; the garment's cutouts paired with White stockings and high heels create gorgeous lines in a seated pose. I also brought a metal pole prop topped with a circular cat-ear badge. While shooting standing poses, holding it in various stances—especially the one flashing a peace sign alongside the leg lines shown through the high slit—truly captured Cheshire's playful essence.

Another candid shot sitting on the floor with high heels taken off was also really fun. The photographer had me raise and straighten my leg to showcase the lace trim details of the White stockings at the thigh. Combined with the grey plush rug on the floor and the discarded rhinestone glitter heels, the whole frame exudes a relaxed yet confident 2D gravure feel. Half-reclining or seated angles are harder to master than simple standing poses, but they reveal a more candid, off-duty side of the character.

The crowd density and ambient lighting at the convention posed quite a challenge for shooting, with many convention elements, staff members, and light stands visible in the background. Fortunately, the photographer's mastery of light and composition was top-notch. A wide aperture blurred out the cluttered background while preserving the beautiful bokeh from ceiling lights, crisply capturing the sequins, the texture of the White stockings, and the gold embroidery in rich, high-definition detail.

Huge thanks to all the friends and photographers on site for precisely capturing every detail and motion. Cosplaying is not just about recreating a character; it is a magical journey where we meet the characters we love across dimensions in the 3D world. Every time I put on this costume and immerse myself in the character's adorable aura, I truly feel the charm of ACG culture. I hope to have more opportunities to bring Cheshire's diverse, gorgeous looks from Azur Lane to everyone, taking our time outside of rushed schedules to create even more satisfying Convention photos.
