[Cheshire Cosplay] Blue-and-White Qipao & Bells: An Elegant Taste of a Dragon Empery Lady

This official Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay photoshoot set is finally fully retouched! To embody the "Dragon Empery Lady" theme, I selected a modified qipao-style dress featuring a crisp blue-and-white color palette. The wig features a silver-gray base with soft cyan-blue highlights, crowned by fluffy animal ears as a Kemonomimi girl, with blue-and-white lace flowers pinning the styling firmly in place. The garment craftsmanship is exceptionally intricate: a teardrop cut-out at the chest bordered by delicate white lace, with ornate golden metallic ornaments and long navy tassels dangling at the center, creating wonderful tactile movement when walking.

During shooting, I drew up the deep navy cords in both hands; the large golden bells suspended at the ends chimed crisply with every motion. The wide, semi-sheer blue tulle sleeves layered with white ruffled frills felt wonderfully ethereal in motion. The high-slit hemline of the dress perfectly showcased the White stockings and garter straps, lending the overall styling an alluring touch of elegance and subtle sensuality. To complement the cat ears, I specifically designed several poses: standing up miming cat paws, or sitting on the tatami mat extending my legs forward while holding a folding fan, striving to balance playful cheekiness with poised ladylike grace.

The studio set was arranged with an enchanting Eastern classical ambiance: wooden folding screens, Japanese paper lanterns, woven bamboo baskets, a patterned paper parasol, and artificial pink flowering branches over tatami flooring—elements that beautifully complemented the cool tones of the attire in this Anime-style photography session. We shot using the Canon EOS R5 Mark II paired with the RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM lens. The indoor lighting was relatively complex with warm lantern glows interweaving with the main key light, but the gear's autofocus and dynamic range remained remarkably stable in low-light environments. The 24-105mm focal range proved ultra-versatile, effortlessly handling everything from mid-body close-ups while standing to full-body compositions seated on the tatami.

For post-production color grading in Capture One, I focused on preserving the overall cool-toned ambiance while highlighting the translucent freshness of the fabric. Because warm light sources populated the scene, dialing in skin tones required significant finesse—using the Color Editor to render skin tones rosy, dewy, and luminous while retaining blue-gray undertones in the shadows to enrich color depth. The shoot yielded an impressively high keeper rate, with both the garment's texture and natural posing exceeding expectations. I will definitely continue exploring diverse shooting styles moving forward, thoughtfully documenting every character cosplay journey.
