[Taihou cosplay] Azur Lane Campus Lockers: A Cat-like Languid Girl

For this shoot, we chose vintage school lockers and a classroom as our location, attempting to blend the character Taihou into an everyday campus atmosphere. Compared to grandiose sets, this corner brimming with lived-in warmth made the character's personality feel much more three-dimensional and vibrant.

The core of this styling is the combination of the red garment, white shirt, and black ribbon bow. To stay true to the character's traits, I put on round-frame glasses and a black cat-ear headband, ensuring the hairstyle maintained a casual, fluffy feel. The photos captured beside locker doors and in front of classroom desks strive to present an effortless everyday Campus style vibe.

During the shoot, I particularly loved looking back over my shoulder while leaning against the edge of the lockers, or composing shots sitting directly atop the classroom desks. In Photo 3, I took off one chunky-heeled loafer and held it in hand; combined with how the Black tights outfit sculpted the leg lines, the entire look presented a unique charm infused with slight languor and playfulness. This natural spontaneity was precisely what I wanted to capture.

During shooting, I had the photographer rely mostly on natural diffused light streaming through the classroom windows rather than harsh reflector fill. This soft side-backlight nicely outlined the character's silhouette while making the texture and sheen of the black tights appear exceptionally natural and authentic, avoiding harsh highlights. Whether near the window or leaning against the lockers, the subtle shifts in light and shadow gave the frame an organic, breathing quality.

When posing, I deliberately imagined what the character would genuinely do in this space—like dangling her legs while zoning out on a desk, or sneakily peeking into a classmate's locker. This performance immersion, combined with the setting, costume, and detailed elements like glasses and cat ears, made the entire set feel far more than just posed modeling in costume; it felt much closer to a candid slice-of-life snapshot of an Anime cosplay.

The key to this Taihou cosplay is striking the balance between cuteness and a touch of mature allure. This Campus style attempt allowed me to express these traits through environmental storytelling, and I hope these photos convey both a relaxed, lively vibe and a dedicated attitude toward character recreation. The overall feeling resonated wonderfully with the venue's atmosphere, making it a delightfully engaging shooting experience.

The red hair ribbon was another finishing touch, adding dynamic motion to the frame while walking or leaning. For makeup, I selected natural eye makeup paired with crimson contact lenses, which enhanced the Anime cosplay charm without looking jarring, perfectly complementing the round glasses to give the overall disposition a softer, artistic feel.
