Today at the convention site, I finally got to wear this Master cosplay outfit. The black glossy material of the corset and shorts has a great reflective effect under the exhibition hall's lights, but the trade-off is that it's completely non-breathable. Although there is air conditioning in the hall, my back still sweats after walking around and shooting for a few rounds. The white ruffles and red bows on the sleeves look nice, but they are a bit tight on the arms, and the straps must be adjusted during breaks. The black glossy over-the-knee high-heeled long boots on my feet perfectly restore the character's leg lines, but the platform doesn't make walking much easier, and the weight bearing on the ankles and soles of the feet is huge. The wig is bright pink long straight hair; to keep it from getting frizzy, I carried care solution and a small comb with me, smoothing it out before every shoot. In terms of makeup, the outer corners of the eyes and the red lower eyeshadow were emphasized to highlight that pirate-style vibe. The skull decoration on the hat was pre-reinforced to prevent it from being knocked off in the crowd.
This time I met the photographer San Daji, and we communicated in advance about the style we wanted to showcase. To highlight the overall atmosphere, we chose a location in the convention hall lobby with relatively good lighting. Low-angle upward shooting can elongate the visual proportions, especially when shooting squatting and sitting poses, allowing the reflections of the boots and the glossy Leather jacket and long boots outfit to be clearly captured. In the squatting pose of Picture 1, my right hand holds the brim of the hat, and my left hand rests naturally on my knee. This action can both showcase the lines of the waist and abdomen and make the long boots the visual center of the frame. During the shoot, to prevent wardrobe malfunctions, the range of motion was controlled within a safe range, and anti-exposure stickers were applied in advance.
Inside the venue, quite a few people recognized Master; the bright pink hair and the black-and-gold pirate style are indeed quite eye-catching. A few fellow fans who also like Goddess of Victory: New Hope came over for group photos, and we chatted about the character's settings. Some praised the good texture of the outfit; actually, for this match, I put a lot of effort into the inner wear and accessories. For example, the tightness of the black choker, and the pink heart patch with text and patterns on the white apron—these details greatly affect the final presentation effect. The golden prop gun in my hand is made of resin; it doesn't look big, but holding it for a long time still makes the wrists quite sore.
The convention schedule is always tight, and I am quite satisfied with today's Master cosplay. Overcoming the constraints of the clothing, I showcased the aura the character should have in front of the lens. When cosplaying a character with such tight, glossy material, it's recommended to choose breathable and sweat-absorbing styles for the inner wear, and anti-blister stickers can be applied to the long boots in advance. Going back tonight, I must hurry to massage and relax my legs; wearing such high boots for a long time is indeed a bit much to handle. For the next convention when I cosplay a character, besides accuracy, comfort must also be taken into consideration.
