To give this costume an armored feel, it incorporates substantial lining and stiff materials, making walking quite cumbersome. Combined with the wig and that prop sword, it felt like hauling ten pounds of solid iron. The original plan was to take a few shots leaning against the wall outside, but now it turned into an impromptu forced shoot. Staring at the cold glass doors and chains, frustration surged immediately. Playing into this defeat narrative, I started acting it out by the door handle—first trying to jiggle the lock, then dropping to my knees to gaze up pleadingly when it wouldn't budge, and finally slumping beside the door to completely give up. The photographer found the scene hilarious, noting that this accidental candid reaction was far more expressive than deliberate poses, and kept snapping away on continuous shutter.
The trickiest part of wearing this cosplay is the long skirt hem, which easily wrinkles when sitting down. Furthermore, the hard metallic edges of the props required constant posture adjustments every time I knelt or sat to avoid snagging the fabric. To make matters worse in the heat, the black Over-the-knee socks were drenched in sweat, and the chunky platform boots were heavy—by the end of the shoot, my legs felt completely numb. Although the glowing 24-hour sign was infuriating, capturing this unexpectedly comical, high-contrast photo set provided some comfort. For future location shoots, I will definitely verify opening hours in advance; otherwise, I'll just end up staring at a locked door like this again.
