Carrying this hefty golden giant fork with a fluffy lamb prop resting by my feet, I'm excited to share this photo set taken before the haystacks. This shoot features Eyjafjalla the Hvít Aska cosplay in her blue-and-white color scheme; to match the pre-journey Picnic theme, the set was styled with haystacks, wooden barrels, and pumpkins.
The costume itself is packed with details: white ruffled sleeves and an apron paired with a blue skirt hem, topped with a large blue bow on the head and a delicate little bell at the necklace. Putting it on involved quite a few tedious steps—just fluffing out the volume and checking all the buttons took a good chunk of time.
To ensure the photos captured that relaxed, carefree vibe of a pre-travel picnic, we specifically selected a scene styled with haystacks, wooden barrels, and pumpkins. Several details during the shoot were quite interesting: that giant golden fork is surprisingly heavy in hand. To avoid looking stiff around the shoulders, I had to consciously relax my upper body while lifting the fork and rely on my waist and core to steady the overall posture. To prevent rigid framing, I repeatedly adjusted my stance, ultimately settling on slightly lifting one leg. This posture not only allowed the flared petticoat to spread into a flattering silhouette, but also visually elongated leg lines on camera, which, paired with the ankle bows, added a touch of playful charm.
In terms of lighting and photographic technique for this Outdoor cosplay, warmer lighting effects were chosen whenever possible to harmoniously blend the warm golden hues of the haystacks and orange pumpkins with the cool blue-and-white costume palette—this warm-and-cool contrast added rich visual depth. Shooting outdoors on hay meant that dry grass clippings easily clung to the fabric, requiring frequent cleaning during breaks to keep the outfit pristine. The hay underfoot was naturally soft and spongy, and combined with the constraints of props and the voluminous dress, I frequently had to reposition my feet to maintain balance and prevent slipping, which truly tested body control.
In composition, the diagonal line of the giant fork served as a visual extension, while the lamb prop positioned in the lower left provided visual balance to guide the viewer's gaze. The little lamb prop by my feet was delightful, injecting vivid interaction into the scene. Additionally, the brown crossbody bag accent completed the character's costume design. Although this outdoor Farm style picnic setup looks straightforward, it required balancing props, costume, background, and lighting simultaneously without the absolute control of a studio shoot. Before every shutter click, we had to double-check whether the skirt was neat, the bell was catching light properly, or the hair was blown astray by the wind. Fortunately, our shoot success rate was very high, and the entire crew worked in seamless synergy. The interaction and scene harmony were fantastic, evoking a serene Farm style picnic atmosphere. I hope these photos convey the character's easygoing, natural lifestyle. While the prep and shoot were demanding, they were thoroughly enjoyable, marking a very satisfying scene recreation for this Arknights cosplay.
