This collaboration outfit from Arknights and Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo is probably the outdoor shoot I've looked forward to the most in recent months. As a veteran anime fan who is a long-term "shut-in," suddenly deciding to go hiking and mountain climbing to check out an offline collaboration actually made me hesitate for quite a while before setting off. After all, summer outdoor temperatures and humidity are a major endurance test for a cosplayer wearing a wig and layered clothing.
Fortunately, the Amiya cosplay look for this collaboration is actually a very lightweight outdoor adventure style. The cyan sun-protection windbreaker paired with a white inner layer and black shorts, along with that highly recognizable bright orange scarf and gloves, doesn't feel particularly stuffy when worn. To stay closer to the science popularization and field research setting of the event, I specially brought along a long-handled insect-catching net prop. The wig was also meticulously styled according to the character's features, with the two long rabbit ears and the dip-dyed details at the hair ends restored quite well.
Once I arrived at the collaboration area of Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo, the atmosphere on-site was fantastic. Although the weather was a bit playful that day and drizzled a little midway, it didn't affect everyone's enthusiasm for checking in at all. Upon arrival, I found that the check-in points were distributed across various areas of the zoo, and we climbed uphill all the way following the event's guided route. Honestly, as someone who usually stays at home and doesn't exercise, climbing this sloped park really made this "couch potato's" legs feel weak; I truly pushed my absolute limits for this collaboration. Fortunately, the scenery along the way was beautiful with plenty of greenery and animal standees, so I frequently stopped to take photos in front of those yellow and green photo frames.
While checking in, it was naturally essential to experience the collaboration-exclusive offline activities. There were many animal-related science popularization boards on-site, and the atmospheric vibe was exceptionally well done. We spent about more than half the day gradually collecting all the stamps on the card printed with chibi character avatars. Watching the stamps fill the hexagons one by one brought an absolute explosion of accomplishment. This stamp card is designed very thoughtfully, featuring cartoon patterns of red pandas, foxes, and lynxes, making it highly commemorative. In addition to collecting stamps, I also bought a lot of collaboration merchandise at the shops inside the park to take home and treasure. Today's harvest of "supplies" was extremely rich.
Having consumed too much physical energy midway, we found a spot in the park to recharge and happened to try the internet-famous pancake recommended by netizens. The pancake was baked crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with ice cream and jam—super suitable for a treat during a mountain-climbing break. After climbing the mountain for half a day under the outdoor high temperature, being able to enjoy such a dessert made all the previous sweat feel completely worth it.
For the successful completion of this outdoor shoot, I truly want to extend special thanks to the on-site staff and the girls who helped take photos. Since I went alone, many photos—like the ones inside the check-in frames or holding the stamp cards and postcards—were taken by them. The staff worked incredibly hard too, constantly maintaining order at the venue and warmly answering everyone's questions about stamp collection. Although running around with gear was a bit tiring, being able to genuinely participate in such a public welfare event that integrates gaming with wildlife conservation, and to feel the character's vitality amidst the natural mountain woods, made it a truly happy and fulfilling day of Casual cosplay during my Nanjing travel.
