Only by coordinating specific high-angle lighting with dark backgrounds could we capture that crisp holographic luster.

The props posed another major challenge. That polearm weapon was very heavy, and the placement of the wheel and blade made finding its center of gravity difficult. For the low-stance pose in photo 3 where my body is stretched out, my thighs and core muscles had to remain tensed to stay steady without falling, and the leather belts dug into my legs quite painfully. Yet to capture that agile yet explosive Guard feel from the 2D lore, I had to keep adjusting it over and over.

As for posing, I specifically referenced the character's quiet demeanor that turns decisively crisp once combat begins. Given that the caption is "Doctor, do you think there's danger ahead? It's okay, I will be the Doctor's guard," my gaze needed an extra layer of determination and sharpness. The single-knee kneeling pose in photo 1 looks relatively gentle, the weapon-swinging motion in photo 2 features composited smoke effects in post-production for high dynamism, and the third composition—lowering the body to elongate leg lines—is my personal favorite, conveying power while showcasing leg lines and strap details.

Shooting Convention photos truly tests the chemistry between the photographer and the cosplayer. With dense crowds flowing through the hall, a clean background is hard to come by; the photographer scouted narrow gaps and low angles to bypass the crowds, utilizing floor reflections to elevate texture. To prevent the costume from getting messy while walking, I pinned extra safety pins along the waist belts and leg straps, watching constantly to ensure no gear shifted out of place. The entire shoot was exhausting, but seeing the final result capture the character's cool yet girl-like aura brought a great sense of achievement. Because the weapon was so heavy and holding poses took a long time, my arms ached for days afterward, but if everyone feels this Arknights cosplay is faithful to the character, then it was completely worth it.
