Portraying Hatsune Miku and Hatsune Mikuo in this Rabbit Hole theme alongside my partner proved far more physically demanding than expected, yet the finished results made every bit of effort worthwhile. To honor that nocturnal neon and casino ambiance, we spent considerable time refining makeup and garment details. The blue-to-purple gradient wig required not only meticulous detangling, but also precise anchoring of wispy baby hairs and bow hair clips at the crown; black X-shaped bobby pins and tiny pink heart accessories had to be firmly pinned down, as they easily shifted during dynamic movements. For eye makeup, blue contact lenses accentuated the cool-toned aesthetic, while crimson teardrops at the outer corners and hearts drawn along the lower lids—paired with broad sweeps of pink blush—cultivated an alluring yet dangerous, intoxicating aura.
The black glossy latex bodysuit I wore was exceptionally demanding with lighting, requiring specific illumination angles to draw out that fluid, reflective sheen. The matching red bow tie and leather arm straps served as exquisite finishing touches. Paired beneath were black Fishnet stockings and lace-up high heels; maintaining elongated body lines during walking and seated postures kept leg contours taut and sculpted into graceful curves. My partner's vest-and-trouser styling was equally rich in detail: luminous glowing straps along the garments stood out strikingly in the dark, while red cuff bands and silver metal handcuffs added interactive intrigue and dark undertones. We also utilized dry ice on set to release swirling mist, deepening framing layers.
The greatest hurdle during the shoot lay in cultivating partner synergy. Frames featuring close embraces, waists held tightly, or me sitting across his lap wielding the handcuffs demanded natural physical ease while ensuring nothing looked awkward on camera. For one take where I leaned prone across the gaming table as he pressed forward, we ran through numerous attempts to dial in focal lengths and body proportions—striving to project confrontational tension in our gaze while preventing tension in arm and shoulder muscles. Props like the handcuffs and pink leather straps easily pinched or caught, requiring frequent looseness adjustments between takes.
The studio lighting setup deployed an array of purple and blue neon tubes; background mesh panels and roulette installations infused the frames with heavy cyberpunk vibes. Because the garment materials were highly sensitive to light refraction, the slightest misdirected beam caused blown-out highlights, prompting the photographer to invest immense care into refining lamp angles and camera positions. We spent hours honing each stance to smoothly bring these high-tension frames to life. For concepts demanding intense visual punch, expressive body language and tactile garment textures are indispensable; continuous dialogue with my partner was essential to achieve balanced visual harmony, culminating in this naturally enigmatic visual aesthetic.
