Recreating Hatsune Miku's classic original outfit has been an absolute obsession since I first fell in love with cosplay. Taking advantage of CICF this time, I finally brought this iconic look to life. In front of the camera today is me, Xia Nai.

The wig serves as the very soul of this styling. For her signature teal twin tails, I dedicated two full evenings before departing to trim the bangs and calibrate hair volume, ensuring an airy, multi-layered visual effect before the lens. Wardrobe-wise, the classic sailor-collar white shirt was detailed with pink striped accents, paired with a black pleated miniskirt and leg-elongating black pantyhose (black stockings). On my feet were glossy patent-leather platform loafers, which stretched the overall visual proportions remarkably.

Because I was wearing a Kigurumi mask, my field of vision was severely confined—limited roughly to a narrow window directly ahead. This meant navigating angles and footsteps on the outdoor convention grounds demanded extraordinary synergy between me and photographer NightDiva. The outdoor lighting was gorgeous, but that also meant ambient temperatures posed a grueling test of endurance. Trapped inside long sleeves and dense pantyhose, breaking into a sweat was an everyday reality, requiring me to keep my breathing as steady and deliberate as possible.

For this shoot, I specially prepared three plushies of varying sizes: balancing one with closed-eye smiling expression on my head, cradling an oversized one in my arms, and resting another beside my legs. Far more than static props, these plushies infused the frames with playful interactivity. Seated on the stone steps, the photographer had me stretch my legs out naturally; the black stockings and loafers leading toward the edge of the frame, harmonized with the staggered plushies, yielded a wonderfully balanced composition. For the chair series, I flashed a peace sign with a plushie nestled on my lap—a simple pose that, paired with the mask's sculpted expression, effortlessly captured a graphic 2D aesthetic.

In truth, parading in costume and a full head mask around outdoor convention grounds is far from easy: restricted vision demands extreme caution when navigating stairs, while hand movements must be measured to avoid appearing stiff. Yet every time I caught a glimpse of that teal twin-tailed silhouette through the lens, every bit of effort felt profoundly worthwhile.

The 100 Mikus Project—001 Classic Original Outfit has officially launched. As the gateway to my cosplay journey, this foundational Hatsune Miku look carries countless memories. Giving physical form to that passion in my own voice and archiving it live at a comic-con is an experience of pure devotion. Model: Xia Nai, Photography: NightDiva, Date: 2026-10-03, Location: CICF outdoor grounds—these frames stand as our finest answer to that day.
