The result of being completely out of sync with the venue contact was that our shoot plan suffered an utter fiasco. We originally planned to shoot inside the studio complex, but arrived on-site only to find the main entrance sealed for an event, leaving us no choice but to improvise in the neon-lit corridor of the annex using ambient light. Our sponsor 'Uncle McDonald's' provided three McFlurries; because the indoor temperature was high and the ice cream melted rapidly, we had to rush to eat while striking poses—Photo 1 is an authentic snapshot of starving and eating ice cream on the lawn. The Cyberpunk-style tube lights in the hallway were great for cold-toned photos, but the issue was that the overhead lights were overly dense and harsh, making facial shadows difficult to manage. With shooting halting intermittently to yield to pedestrians, we fortunately managed to secure several great compositions.
To fully showcase the outfit's visual effect and the paired Black stockings, I needed to strike a side-reclining pose on the corridor tiles. This posture required supporting my body with one arm and engaging my waist and core muscles, severely testing core endurance and leaving me exhausted after just a few minutes. The photographer had to crouch low to find upward angles while controlling interference from tile glare. Under intense neon lights—especially this cyan-blue cool lighting—skin easily turns pale and Black stockings can lose depth, requiring constant white balance adjustments and using the floor's white stripes as natural reflectors. To capture ideal leg lines, I repeatedly adjusted angles to make knee and ankle contours look more slender in the frame. Reclining on the floor took a heavy toll on the knees; through thin stockings, the chill of the tiles transferred directly, prompting the photographer to tease that it looked like shooting a vintage retro poster.
In terms of makeup and styling, prolonged exposure to strong light caused the teal wig to reflect too much light and the tips sagged, requiring two touch-ups to barely maintain translucency. The hair bows and twin-tails easily tangled while walking, taking considerable effort to groom. Although communicating with the contact was exhausting and the sponsored McFlurry turned into a styling prop, this chaotic experience authentically documented the day. Watching my friend goofily enjoying ice cream beside me, paired with raw camera files, completed this Cyberpunk-themed Photography behind-the-scenes log. By the end, everyone even learned to blind-fire the shutter through gaps between light tubes. This experience offered valuable lessons for adjusting shoot plans—especially facing fixed location conditions, staying spontaneous often yields pleasant surprises. Moreover, capturing candid dynamics under limited light boosted our on-site adaptability. What started as a meticulous studio plan turning into hallway improvisation brought a helpless contrast, yet imbued the photos with lively, authentic moments for this Store visit sharing memory of Hatsune Miku cosplay.
