Over the past few days, students from the Akademiya have proactively greeted me with \"Happy Birthday, Senior!\" Regardless of their academic proficiency, their respect toward their elders is at least commendable. Taking the occasion of my birthday, I organized and am sharing this client photoshoot set of Faruzan cosplay.
For this shoot, we prepared several scenes of varying styles. To capture this senior scholar's demeanor, costume, makeup, and props took extensive preparation. The outfit features numerous metal accessories and waist chains; putting everything on and arranging it took over an hour, ensuring every streamer was properly smoothed into place. In terms of styling, makeup especially emphasized the eyes—paired with colored contacts and eyeliner sculpting—aiming to convey that sagacious yet slightly tsundere flair.
The shooting venues featured a swing, a wooden cabin with a vintage sofa, and a dark room with neon lights. The swing set was accented with a green slime plush and a golden birdcage, using natural wood grain and light to accentuate an ethereal yet lively ambiance. For the sofa set, props like books and a teacup fostered the casual, everyday vibe of a scholar resting in her study. The dark room set utilized expansive purple and blue lighting, allowing the white-and-blue palette of the costume and golden accents to produce richer refractions under the light.
Coordination during the shoot was more complex than anticipated. Simultaneously managing prop placement and skirt draping required repeatedly tweaking poses while maintaining specific facial expressions. In particular, capturing Faruzan's focused gaze when observing things placed high demands on camera angles and eye focus. Seeing the final results seamlessly blend cool aloofness with a touch of playfulness made all the effort feel worthwhile. Portraying this 2D character as a Female cosplayer and immersing myself in her essence from start to finish made this a highly satisfying, complete photoshoot.
