This cosplay photoshoot for Evanescia from Honkai: Star Rail actually took quite a while to prepare. The first two images show the comparison between the color-graded P1 and the raw photo P2; the lighting and atmosphere are completely different. Special thanks to the photographer, Monster, for on-site control. During the shoot, we mainly used an old-fashioned wooden door as the foreground. Standing on the balcony, we were able to capture both the trees behind and distant architecture, creating an overall environment that perfectly matched the character's slightly cool, aloof presence. The red blade prop was very heavy; holding it at a specific angle was necessary to convey the commanding aura in the photos, and holding my balance steady for the two back-view shots took considerable effort. For the third photo, we moved to an indoor position by the window. The backlighting beautifully silhouetted the edges of the hair, and the gold trim along with the red, black, and white color scheme on the outfit showed incredible fidelity under good lighting. The wig styling truly tested the wig stylist's craftsmanship; securing the rabbit ears took a lot of effort, and the floral hair accessories required repeated angle adjustments. Throughout the shoot, I continuously fine-tuned my poses to accentuate the silhouette of the outfit and the lines of the legs while maintaining good form. Overall, I am very satisfied with the result. This shoot also provided valuable experience, such as color grading approaches under overcast versus strong backlight conditions, and how to utilize door frames to enhance visual depth, which will be very helpful for future character shoots.
