When preparing for this Taihou cosplay outfit photoshoot from Azur Lane, I really wanted to create a warm yet slightly languid winter vibe. The short skirt set in a red and white color scheme, paired with plush-textured headwear and cuffs, is visually striking, though wearing it actually involves quite a few details. For example, the detached oversized sleeve covers offer a wonderful flowing feel for photos, but slip off easily with even slight movement, requiring constant readjustments throughout the shoot. Then there's the bell choker around my neck that jingles as I walk, which added a fun layer of character interactivity.

For the set, white drapes and vintage candlesticks were chosen to craft a gorgeous, dreamlike atmosphere. However, because the indoor lighting was relatively dim, actual Indoor photography demanded precise lighting setups. The photographer used spotlights to brighten my face and the white fabric portions, giving the overall composition rich depth. Combining white stockings with a mini skirt is one of the key highlights of this outfit. In the photos, I specifically chose a side-lying pose, which not only displays the leg lines but also makes the costume's ruffles and red laces look more three-dimensional. To faithfully capture Taihou's distinct aura, I carefully controlled my eye contact and expression; wearing red contact lenses certainly boosted the overall presence significantly.

The entire photoshoot lasted about three hours. Constantly shifting angles and tweaking lights, combined with the indoor AC temperature not being particularly high, made wearing thin chiffon garments quite chilly. But seeing the final photos made every bit of effort completely worth it. The tailoring of this costume fits the body closely, naturally highlighting neck, shoulder, and waist curves without feeling overly exaggerated, making it a very satisfying shoot.

In fact, every cosplay session feels like stepping into another life—from hair and makeup down to accessories, every step is an effort to draw closer to the character. This Taihou look features a timeless color scheme; red and white never go out of style, and the plush elements lend a strong winter feel, making it perfect as a year-end wrap-up piece. I hope everyone can feel the gentle, enchanting vibe conveyed in these photos.
