When preparing this white-and-blue look, I was actually worried that the extensive white areas might easily get overexposed or look flat during the studio shoot at the convention. However, after receiving the final photos, this crisp, clean white turned out to be the greatest highlight of the entire ensemble, creating a glowing visual effect alongside the blue accents.
First, about the wig: I chose a silver-gray base with blue gradient tips, which is overall voluminous and smooth. Paired with straight bangs and side strands framing the face, it makes the face look smaller. The cat-ear headband combines white-and-blue ruffles and bows; although this small animal-ear accessory takes up quite some space for daily wear, it perfectly balances the head's visual center of gravity during Convention photos shooting.
The costume's design details are very elaborate. It features a white halter inner top paired with a navy vest-style harness, with a massive navy gold-trimmed bow on the chest serving as the visual focal point. The straps and waist cutouts elongate body proportions. The lower body combines white lace shorts and garter rings connected to over-the-knee stockings, making the White thigh-highs outfit with lace trims and strapping details look richly layered in close-ups. I always felt white stockings were tricky to capture with rich texture, but under the lighting at the convention, they presented an exceptionally soft, premium texture. Paired with matching ruffled wrist cuffs, the whole outfit is remarkably cohesive.
The convention hall was actually more crowded than expected on the day of the shoot, but fortunately, we found an open space in a corner of the venue to set up. To complement this fluffy, pure aesthetic, I specifically sat on a white circular plush rug; the black metal stool and deep gray concrete floor of the venue in the background helped ground the intense reflections of the large white areas, making the visual contrast much crisper.
In choosing poses, we experimented with several seated stances. For instance, sitting on the stool while lifting one arm was meant to create a seamless extension between the upper body lines and leg contours in the frame, while using the arm's curve to break symmetry for a natural, relaxed feel. The other poses sitting cross-legged on the plush rug were aimed at conveying the character's languid and well-behaved nature. However, because the skirt and fabric were very light, extra caution was needed during the shoot to prevent wardrobe malfunctions and fabric creases.
The ambient lighting on the convention day was quite complex, and the photographer set up dedicated fill lights on the side to properly illuminate the white textures. Convention photos like this demand strong synergy with the photographer to swiftly capture clean moments amid the noisy background. For makeup, to harmonize with the character and wig colors, I emphasized the eye makeup and selected light blue-gray contact lenses to echo the overall cool palette and add depth to my gaze.
In fact, ambient lights in many exhibition areas lean yellowish, which washes out the details of the White thigh-highs outfit. Capturing these results in the narrow gaps between booths using cool light sources truly tests post-processing. Fortunately, the transparency and clarity in the final photos were achieved impeccably. Shooting this Anime cosplay set was physically taxing; the fitted cut sacrificed some fabric coverage, requiring constant adjustments to accessories whenever movements were larger. Yet bringing a beloved costume to reality and producing satisfying photos is the greatest reward of the entire convention trip.
