The light and shadow in today's photo set are genuinely stunning. Actually, the shooting environment was quite hardcore: we found a concrete building with a strong sense of abandonment, featuring rough walls without extra decorations, which happened to contrast and highlight the texture of the dark blue Sailor suit. The original post text mentions turning off the corridor lights and putting down the schoolbag, which simply aims to express that relaxed vibe of shedding fatigue after school and enjoying a moment of quietness in this hidden corner.

The equipment brought this time is the Fujifilm X-S20 body paired with the Viltrox 27mm F1.2 Pro. I really have to praise this combination. The 27mm equivalent to full-frame is around 40mm, which is a golden focal length very close to the human eye's perspective, making it utterly suitable for shooting this kind of environmental portrait JK uniform photography. The F1.2 ultra-large aperture is practically an artifact in this kind of indoor environment with complex lighting and distinct light-dark boundaries. Sunlight streams through the windows onto the walls, forming mottled tree shadows; not only did the large aperture bring superb light intake, but that soft out-of-focus background blur also perfectly separated the subject from the background, instantly bringing out a three-dimensional feel in the frame. Moreover, this lens's autofocus speed is very fast, making candid shots of moments like head turns or adjusting the neckerchief exceptionally stable. Fujifilm's straight-out-of-camera colors are indeed reassuring; the contrast between the dark blue uniform and White stockings is exceptionally pure, achieving a wonderful film-like feel without needing too much post-processing color grading.

Regarding this outfit, the classic dark blue Sailor suit paired with white over-the-knee socks and black loafers makes up the standard triad. The Sailor suit fabric has a nice drape, producing subtle light and dark changes under the light. White stockings are genuinely a wonderful matching element, forming an intense contrast with the dark uniform and naturally carrying a 2D anime-like purity. In pose design, I also tried different postures. When sitting on that black plastic chair, curling up slightly or stretching the legs out, limb language was utilized to guide the line of sight; when leaning against the corner of the wall, occasionally toying with the neckerchief or gazing blankly out the window kept the state as natural as possible. Because of wearing over-the-knee socks, in some knee-bending movements, the negative space of the absolute territory added a bit of breathing room and visual attraction to the frame.

When shooting these photos, the outdoor sunlight was extremely cooperative, but I also paid attention to how to utilize those hard lights. For instance, in those shots sitting on the ground, the sunlight happened to hit the legs and side face, with rim lighting making the entire contour light up. For photographers, this is also a great light-and-shadow exercise, adjusting angles and camera positions anytime according to the light. This photo set didn't have many complex props; a black uniform bag was the sole companion, fitting right into that after-school solitary atmosphere. The entire shooting process was very carefree, without deliberately posing rigid movements, flowing naturally instead within that light-and-shadow vibe. Even with the same sitting posture, a slight change in gaze brought out a completely different feeling. The shutter sound and the movement of the sunlight constituted the most healing fragment of that afternoon.
