[Herta Cosplay] Unlocking Madam Herta's New Wardrobe Look in Honkai: Star Rail

From the moment I got the design draft for this character look, I was drawn to the dark, elegant black-and-purple color scheme and its intricate layers, so this time I directly put on this Herta cosplay outfit for a test shoot.

The most captivating feature of this Cosplay costume is the classic color-blocking combination of black, purple, and silver-white. Let's start with the head styling: the wig chosen this time is a silver-white medium-long hair with rich layers, paired with airy bangs that frame the face nicely, creating a strong contrast of light and dark against the deep-toned outfit to keep visual focus on the face. The black-and-purple ruffled soft hat on top is remarkably sophisticated; the brim pleats are crisp and structured rather than limp, and the thin purple ribbon accenting the edge adds further refinement to the overall look.

The large purple bow tied at the front of the neck is one of the key highlights of the entire outfit; its material exhibits a subtle silky sheen, while the delicate key pendant hanging beneath adds a touch of mysterious narrative to the styling. The bust area features a vest-like cinch-waist design; its stiff tailoring combined with bright silver buttons bestows both a crisp temperament and a lovely accentuation of the waistline.

The design of the sleeves is richly layered. The shoulders feature slightly puffed black sleeve caps, merging downward into translucent light-purple tulle flare sleeves, further accented by purple ribbon criss-cross lacing on the outer arms. This multi-layered visual overlay makes movements like raising hands, waving, or putting hands on hips look particularly lively and airy. The large purple ruffles around the waist and front possess ample fabric volume, with cascading pleats evoking a vintage courtly charm—creating an impressive presence even when standing still without large movements.

Regarding makeup, to complement this slightly aloof and tsundere styling, I chose light purple contact lenses to deepen the look in my eyes. Rather than heavy eye makeup, I focused on extending the eyeliner and brightening the aegyo sal (under-eye highlights) to make the eyes appear larger and more expressive. A sheer light pink blush paired with peach lip gloss gave the entire face a BJD doll-like delicate aesthetic without being overly sharp, preserving a gentle, sweet charm.

During shooting, I chose a pure white indoor background. In fact, for clothing with intricate details and deep colors, a clean, pure white background is an excellent choice—it maximizes the highlights of the garment's texture, color contrast, and layer structure without cluttering the shot.

The hands-on-hip pose in Photo 2 is my personal favorite, as this angle beautifully showcases the fit and tailoring of the whole outfit, making the shoulder and sleeve design look exceptionally sharp during gestures. In Photo 3, holding the fluffy purple ruffles in front of me with fingers lightly touching my chin creates a softer expression, conveying a slightly curious and playful mood.

My biggest feeling wearing this costume is that despite having many fabric layers and ruffles, the overall weight distribution is quite balanced, so walking around or doing simple movements doesn't feel overly restrictive. For those who regularly engage in Anime cosplay, whether a Cosplay costume delivers good photos depends not only on aesthetics, but also on how photogenic it is.
