This set of Kyoyama Kazusa Outdoor photography images focuses on restoring the character's casual yet cool everyday state as set in the game. The location was chosen at a footbridge, a semi-open space with a strong sense of structure, where the steel and glass canopy at the top provides very soft and directional natural light, perfect for shooting this kind of everyday outfit with techwear elements.
In terms of costume, to replicate that iconic black hoodie with white stripes, a loose-fit version was specially selected. The inner layer features a green collar with a white base, cooperating with the bright red bowtie as the visual focus to completely maximize the overall color layers. The green border of the pleated skirt is a detail that forms an excellent warm-and-cool color harmony with the shoe's blue-black color-blocking, bright pink shoelaces, and the pink highlights at the tail-end of the hairstyle. To fit the setting, I prepared that large prop gun; although it was a bit troublesome to carry out, its heavy texture in hand indeed added a lot of weight to the frame. The pink halo and black plush cat ears on top of the head during this Cosplay photography not only required attention to securing them to prevent falling off but also constantly adjusting their angles to avoid breaking character in reflections or side-backlight.
In directing the poses during the shoot, I tried several different states. The one where I extend one leg backward to hook the ankle looks effortless, but it actually requires a certain level of core strength to maintain a relaxed facial expression while supporting the center of gravity on one side, utilizing the handling of the prop to balance the visual weight. The other two crouching poses were casual snapshots during breaks in the shoot; compared to a formal standing posture, this slightly defensive or leaning-in listening stance possesses much more of a storytelling feel, just like that everyday relaxed state of waiting for someone on a footbridge.
As for makeup and styling, this time mainly enhanced the eye contours. The red contact lenses have great light transmittance under natural light, which, combined with earth-toned eyeshadow and upturned eyeliner, makes the gaze look focused yet somewhat cool. That tiny metallic pendant on the black choker is the crowning touch, adding a highlight point against the pure black base. The lip color selected is a warm-toned orange-red, which perfectly tones down the overall black-and-pink cool color palette. The experience of this shoot was fantastic; the photographer's snapshot rhythm was very comfortable, and the final print's contrast of light and dark along with the image texture far exceeded my expectations. Every time I portray a character rich in details and embedded in real-life scenes, I can feel a sense of fulfillment as the character steps out from the settings into reality.
