Putting on this Maid Cafe themed dress, my goal was to accurately recreate that sweet yet playful feeling of Daji. The wig was selected in the bright pink matching the original artwork, and quite a lot of effort went into the post-styling to trim the straight bangs and outward-curling edges. For the eye makeup, it was coordinated with pink colored contact lenses, plus an upturned eyeliner and natural aegyo sal, striving to craft the nimble and charming state unique to fox eyes. In terms of makeup execution, a highly lustrous lip glaze was specially selected to create a glass-lip effect, which, paired with the subtle action of opening the lips slightly to bite a fork, added a touch of playfulness and temptation to the overall style.

Regarding the costume, the navy blue main tone pairs beautifully with a large amount of white lace and red ribbons, and the red bowtie and heart accessories at the collar are absolutely the crowning touch. To shoot a more premium texture, a softbox was specially utilized to output even flat lighting, cooperating with a pink-and-white gradient solid color background cloth to make the overall tone highly unified, looking clean yet layered. The massive heart pattern with black-and-gold trim at the waist, as well as the multi-layered ruffles of the skirt hem, are crucial visual focuses of this maid outfit. To make the overall look more three-dimensional, I also paired a matching skirt hoop at the waist to give the skirt hem a slightly puffy effect, which, combined with a simple lifting action, provides a look that blends motion and stillness in the frame. The gathers on the shoulders and the multi-layered lace trim at the cuffs look exceptionally exquisite under close-up shots, which heavily tests the adjustment of the early costume, makeup, and prop details.

In terms of props, the action of holding a fork this time aims to transmit a vivid sense of "about to enjoy dessert!" The right hand gently pinches the collar string, while the left hand holds a blurred foreground dessert, perfectly forming a contrasting spatial depth. Although the cake main body placed in the foreground undergoes a blurring treatment, the outlines of strawberries and cream still form a visual echo with the strawberry decorations on the headpiece, sticking closely to the theme down to the fine details. The lace ruffles on the head, the large black bow, and the embellished strawberry decorations were all secured anew with bobby pins and hairspray by the stylist to maintain their original shapes under dramatic movements.

Since Daji is my main hero in Honor of Kings, being able to personally cosplay this Maid Cafe skin truly brings a great sense of accomplishment. Before shooting, I repeatedly adjusted my postures against the in-game modeling, hoping the flat photos could also carry that 2D nimbleness from the game. I think the fun of cosplay lies exactly in this—integrating your love for the virtual world into real life to restore every tiny detail of the character. To make the expressions more vivid during the shooting process, I interacted with the cake prop while coordinating with the photographer for snapshots, which relaxed my state a lot and made my gaze more natural.

Actually, this skin design blends the crispness of a maid and the charm of a fox very well. The navy blue dress sets off the skin tone beautifully, while the red and white accents add a lot of vitality. Therefore, I tried my best to stick close to this color scheme in location selection and background lighting effects, hoping the presented visuals would carry the exact atmosphere this outfit deserves. Of course, I also watch many works by excellent fellow cosplayers in daily life, learning and accumulating experience in every creation. Every time I face the lens, I try my best to relax, pretending to truly be a little maid enjoying afternoon dessert, instead of being stiff for the sake of forced posing.

Every single detail on the costume, makeup, and props—even a tiny misalignment of a decorative strap—was adjusted multiple times to its best state during shooting intervals, because I hope what the audience sees is not just a photo of someone wearing character clothes, but the character herself truly coming to life. Striving for authentic restoration rather than chasing after superficial gorgeousness was my initial motivation for this creation of Anime-style photography. This photoshoot work concludes here for now, and I hope everyone can feel the sweet atmosphere I transmitted this time.
