[Vivian cosplay] Spring Meets Zenless Zone Zero: Being Vivian by Phaethon's Side Again

Master Phaethon always manages to catch so many unexpected corners. Rather than standing amidst bustling convention crowds, I much prefer outdoor shoots steeped in natural atmosphere. This time, photographer @螃蟹螃蟹螃丶 and I planned for a long time, choosing a location nestled inside a blooming cherry blossom forest to capture a sense of tranquility distinct from urban noise.

While the photos look clean and refreshing in atmosphere, the actual prep was far more intricate than I anticipated. Most crucial was the blue-and-white wig overhead; to achieve a naturally fluffy contour that retains original fidelity, we repeatedly adjusted the curl at the tips and side braids. To prevent strange color shifts under outdoor natural sunlight, I even sprayed a layer of matte color-fixing spray before setting off. The Elf ear style props took a full morning to attach using medical glue, requiring a secure fit that wouldn't fall off during a full day of outdoor shooting without looking jarring, which took considerable effort concealing the edges.

The tailoring of the costume was my favorite part. The top features a black-and-white panel structure with a touch of deep blue accenting the collar, echoing the hair color. The waist's black vest paired with strap details visually elongates body proportions, and the stiff, structured material cut outlined rich layers in backlight beneath cherry blossom trees. Though the skirt wasn't shot in full, it utilized multi-layered fabric draping that flared naturally when walking. Because the outfit's overall color palette leans cool white and black, against a backdrop of soft pink blossoms, the character popped out instantly, anchoring the composition without needing aggressive artificial lighting.

The black-and-white parasol also served as a very practical prop on set. Half-closed and paired with a side glance over the shoulder, it filled out the image's triangular composition nicely while giving my hands a natural resting place. To be honest, holding this umbrella for most of the day made my wrist quite sore, but it achieved the desired elegant effect in the final photos.

The lighting that day posed a slight challenge. Morning sunlight filtering through flower branches cast dappled shadows across my face, easily flattening facial features. Thankfully, the photographer excelled at using reflectors to fill light, giving my face natural contours while bringing out the spirit in my red eye makeup and eyeshadow. Since red eyes are an eye-catching hallmark in her character design, the chosen contact lenses needed translucency so my gaze didn't look rigid in shots.

Truthfully, in an outdoor environment like this, with many passersby around, fully immersing oneself into character really tests one's mindset. But when you dive in and imagine Master Phaethon watching right behind the lens, you can instantly control micro-expressions and maintain that aloof, slightly distant mood.

The final results basically achieved what I hoped for, retaining real springtime light and shadow without exaggerated post-processing effects. Clothing folds and wig textures were captured in that precise moment. Carrying this mark of spring and these captured frames, this log comes to a close.
