This Kiyohime cosplay photoshoot freezes a moment within the greenery under the lens. As a highly charismatic character in Fate/Grand Order, Kiyohime's obsession and coolness interwoven from mythological prototypes and game settings have always been traits that completely fascinate me. This time, I specially selected such a summer afternoon Japanese style garden, cooperating with the mint-green long hair and white dragon horn props, hoping to express both her fantasy colors and sense of serenity simultaneously.

When handling the wig, I specifically chose mint-green to highly recreate her iconic hair color, paired with naturally draped straight bangs and sideburns, striving to display Kiyohime's alternating moods of being charming at times and carrying a touch of innocent cunning at others. The white horns of the headpiece section adopt lightweight materials, which won't cause too heavy a burden when worn on the head. Paired with the golden leaf-shaped hair ornaments on the side, they can reflect some fine luster under the light, making the visual layers of the overall styling even richer.

For the clothing, I selected a lightweight customized fabric to make the outer white wide-sleeved kimono. On one hand, this prevents it from being too muggy during long-term outdoor shooting; on the other hand, it allows the hem to project a flowing sensation when a gentle breeze blows. The fabric texture of the inner cyan-blue long robe leans toward rigid, forming an excellent visual contrast with the white outer robe. The waistband section uses grayish-black as the base color, further tied with a bright yellow cord knot and bow, adding a highly energetic pop of bright color to the overall cool and soft color scheme.

The sunlight on the day of the shoot filtered through the gaps in the tree canopy, forming mottled light and shadow on the ground and rocks. This feeling happens to match beautifully with Kiyohime's slightly melancholy aura of being surrounded by nature in her game background. I tried different angles by the stone bridge, on the big rocks at the water's edge, and under that square doorframe carrying a strong sense of spatial depth. Especially when holding the folding fan, the red and yellow fire patterns on the fan surface formed a powerful color contrast with the cool-colored attire, looking exceptionally beautiful inside the lens.

The wooden clogs on the feet paired with white over-the-knee socks can be called a highly eye-catching part of this combination. The clogs make a crisp sound when stepping on the bluestone path, but maintaining balance at all times during the shoot was also a minor challenge. The yellow lace border design on the socks' edge not only preserves the characteristics of the 2D anime style but also nicely modifies the leg lines. Paired with the high-slit skirt hem, it can display Kiyohime's unhurried and elegant feel under both sitting and standing postures.

In terms of presenting movements, I tried hand-holding the folding fan to half-mask the face, opening the fan outward to showcase the fire patterns, or quietly sitting by the waterfront looking at the camera. Especially at that fraction of a second sitting on the rock, resting my chin on both hands and perceiving the gentle breeze amid the tree shadows, I felt my entire personal state naturally settle into calmness.

I believe that through this set of photos, it is not only a tribute to the game content of Fate/Grand Order but also, through the cosplay presentation under the lens, a way to let everyone see that slightly tragic yet life-filled trait of Kiyohime. During post-processing, this set of photos heavily focused on preserving the environment's own natural sense of light and the green of the vegetation without excessively modifying skin texture, but using contrast to highlight some light-and-shadow boundaries to give the image more room to breathe. Hope everyone can also perceive my focus and dedication during this Anime-style photography session.
