Today at the convention venue, my partner and I recreated the look of the Fractsidus Duo, with me doing Denia Cosplay. After putting on the wig and intricate neck ornament, we found a corner in the hall with slightly softer light to take this photo together. The crowd at the convention was extremely dense, and light reflections from the metal roof and glass curtain walls made it difficult to capture the ideal character atmosphere. This outfit and makeup were harder to manage than imagined, especially the reddish-brown contact lenses—wearing them for a long time inevitably made my eyes feel dry, but to present the character's melancholic and distant aura, I had to persevere no matter how uncomfortable it felt.
The bundle of red spider lily props in hand served as the visual essence of the whole look, balancing the cold vibe of pale white, light green, and pinkish-white hair colors to create a striking color contrast in the frame. The red neck decoration echoed the red tear-streak lines beneath the eyes, bringing out a somewhat somber and mysterious sense of story under ambient light. I must give special praise to my partner, who played a character with hair fading from pinkish-white to purple; her bright blue contact lenses looked remarkably lively, and when standing together in the same frame, we perfectly demonstrated the resonance and proud solitude of belonging to the Fractsidus Duo.
The order at the convention was pretty good, but navigating repeatedly through crowds to find camera angles was physically exhausting. Fortunately, this cool-toned makeup looked exceptionally stunning under the diffuse light of the atrium, and the unedited raw vibe of these convention photos was already very close to the character's setting. Today's outfit lacked heavy fabrics, but the off-the-shoulder cut and restrictive feeling around the neck actually limited movement; nevertheless, as long as I found the right posture and angle in front of the lens, muscle fatigue could easily be masked.
Doing high-concentration cosplay at a convention every time is a massive drain of energy—from waking up early for three or four hours of makeup to maintaining intense focus for seven or eight hours inside the hall, keeping form every second. Although we don't maintain a cold, distant character state continuously at the expo, the moment we put on these outfits and pick up the red bouquet, the character's soul naturally possesses us. I cherish every opportunity to do such hardcore settings because behind it lies the entire team's coordination, including the stylist managing the wig, continuous makeup touch-ups, and reminding each other to protect props in crowded spaces.
When this photo was taken, it happened to be a late afternoon moment when crowds temporarily dispersed. A gentle breeze blew through the hall, stirring the ends of my hair, finally capturing a genuine yet relaxed emotion. If I had to summarize the state of this photo in one word, it would be \"melancholy.\" This wasn't a forced pose, but a natural expression that flowed out after shedding affectation, perfectly matching this character's temperament in Wuthering Waves. I'm so fortunate to have met such a wonderful partner to portray the Fractsidus Duo together, and I hope to have more opportunities in the future to attempt works pursuing deeper emotional expression. Recording today's post-convention memories also helps accumulate more practical performance experience for upcoming events.
