[Sage cosplay] Precise Crowd Control and Battlefield Sustainability in VALORANT

This group of photos consists of Sage cosplay event photos shot recently at a fairly large anime convention. Before setting off, I specially spent over an hour organizing this gear. The height of the high ponytail and the position of the hair crown were adjusted many times before being securely fixed. The texture of the wig preserved a black matte drape to avoid looking too oily under the camera flash. For the makeup, to match the character's cold, sharp, and capable temperament, I chose earth-toned eyeshadow to deepen the eye sockets, paired with darker eyeliner to elongate the outer corners of the eyes. The contact lenses were a light-colored series with a slightly exotic feel to make the gaze look sharper. The lip color featured a slightly dark red and matte texture, keeping the facial three-dimensionality and the characteristics of cool fair skin as much as possible under the strong lights of the convention. In terms of the costume, this outfit is incredibly rich in layers, with a black high-neck base underneath, covered by a white tunic featuring a patchwork of emerald green and deep purple. The shoulders feature silver armor plates with a slightly distressed finish, providing an inherently stiff silhouette effect. The waistline is tightened using black leather straps combined with a cyan-blue braided rope, and the cyan-green gourd prop hanging at the side of the waist has an excellent texture, adding a touch of fantasy Chinese elements to the overall look. For the legs, I chose pure black techwear-style leggings paired with extremely thick-soled black zipper boots. The advantage of these boots is that they not only elongate the leg proportions but also provide sufficient support when striking various complex crouching poses, allowing for more effortless control of ankle movements. The shooting process was actually very interesting. The crowd at the convention was massive, and we barely managed to find a relatively clean, black reflective floor in a corner of the exhibition hall. The photographer brought professional softboxes and a dual-light setup; the reflections from the floor and background perfectly complemented the cyan-blue energy special effects added in post-processing. During shooting, I needed to constantly adjust the position of my center of gravity. For the low crouching poses in the first photo and the final large image, the core had to be tightened to maintain body stability. When supporting my hands on the ground, I also had to mind the angle of the gesture to prevent the fingers from looking stiff. Moreover, in the image where I hold up the energy orb, I had to both keep my arms extended and balance the sense of strength in my finger seal gestures; it took several adjustments to find the most relaxed yet oppressive angle. The energy orb in this photo was pasted in during post-processing, and combined with the cyan-green streaming light effects scattering across the ground, the combat atmosphere was instantly maximized. Although she is jokingly referred to by many players as a battlefield healer, Sage's own close-quarters defensive capability is also very strong in the game. This inherent trait of having multi-purpose skills made me focus more on showcasing both a sense of storing energy for defense and a sense of control for offense while posing. The material of the costume is a blend fabric with some PU leather; shooting inside the exhibition hall for a long time made it a bit stuffy and hot, but it was all worth it for the final photo results. Every time I do a game character cosplay with such complex gear details, what I enjoy most is the moment after lighting setup when I see the clothing textures, hair directions, and light/shadow seamlessly merging together in the final photos. Paired with these post-processing light effects, the overall visual impact was indeed enhanced quite a bit, serving as a satisfying conclusion to that busy day of capturing convention photos.
