I've always wanted to try this racing suit concept for Kafka. To align with the racing and futuristic themes, I intentionally chose a realistic studio space with an intricate lighting structure. Instead of plain backdrop paper, we went with an authentic industrial area featuring neon light strips and steel staircases. The P2 space truly shines in its lighting design—circular ceiling ring lights and directional arrow floor markings naturally inject heavy sci-fi tech vibes into the frame. The outfit's quality exceeded expectations in person: the checkerboard pattern on the white top is remarkably crisp, while the black patent leather waist cincher and side cutout strap detailing dramatically snatch the waistline. The magenta-purple glossy leggings form the true centerpiece of the look. This material is notoriously unforgiving with light; even a slight angle deviation turns reflections into a catastrophe, but under neon illumination, it reflects dazzling colors that weave into the ambient blue-violet light, delivering magnificent visual texture.
Hair and makeup demanded extensive preparation to match this anime-style fashion racing suit cosplay. The wig carries a subtle magenta-purple hue, which I thinned out and styled loosely over the shoulders to avoid stiffness, accented with small black hair accessories on both sides of the crown. For eye makeup, layered deep reddish eyeshadow was paired with red contact lenses to sharpen the focus of my gaze. The red-and-white color blocking on the gloves and sleeves showed rich depth under this dynamic warm-and-cool lighting. Guiding movement posed the biggest challenge—glossy materials penalize stiff poses, making specular highlights appear lifeless. After thorough discussions with the photographer, we experimented with leaning against railings, looking back over the shoulder, and utilizing staircase angles for composition. In the over-the-shoulder frame, placing my weight on my right leg with the left leg slightly bent elongated the leg lines while naturally accentuating full-body curves.
The space featured numerous arcade cabinets and signage; to prevent visual clutter, the photographer used a wide-aperture lens to melt the background into soft bokeh, preserving glowing LED tubes as edge rim lighting. The high-angle overhead shot was another favorite: looking down from the second-floor stair landing slightly shadowed the face, yet the lighting contrast and leading staircase lines amplified the character's commanding aura. It was quite chilly inside the studio, and cold patent leather against bare skin made every muscle tense up, but holding each pose tightly ensured sharp output. Because the glossy pants are so skin-tight, posture adjustments were continuous to prevent awkward creases. The overall shooting experience was phenomenal; the set was brimming with atmosphere, producing authentic Cyberpunk vibes straight out of the camera without needing heavy digital composites.
