This Runami Yachiyo cosplay shoot was conceived around integrating the character's modern flair into a traditional Japanese style setting. The costume featured an expansive color-blocked patchwork of deep navy, magenta, and cyan-green; the off-the-shoulder cut paired with broad red sleeves delivered strong visual impact.
To ensure styling stability, I spent extensive time prepping the wig—especially the circular loop buns on top, which required repeated styling to achieve the ideal curvature. Blue colored contacts served as the finishing touch, harmonizing with the long silver-white hair to give the eyes a crystal-clear gaze. The difficulty of this outfit lay in its numerous intricate layers: pairing the multi-tiered skirt with gradient stockings demanded careful posture extension whether standing or seated. An incorrect angle could easily look bulky, so I kept my back straight before the camera, stretching leg lines to flatter my silhouette.
We prepared an array of props including a red oil-paper umbrella, a pink plush toy, a black folding fan, and sake ware. The red umbrella contrasted sharply with the dark attire, while warm lighting paired with foreground-blurred cherry blossom branches softened the mood. Cradling the pink plush toy provided natural support for arm poses. Subsequent shots against folding screens and wooden floorboards captured full-body standing and seated postures, emphasizing leg lines, stocking textures, and the visual negative space of the off-shoulder neckline.
