[Texas cosplay] CPG Day 1 Convention photos: Red and Black Dual Wolves Photoshoot

The original plan for a full Siracusa group cosplay didn't come together, turning our CPG Day 1 into a "Dual Wolves" duo instead. Without further ado, here are my Arknights Texas cosplay Convention photos. The outfit features a striking red-and-black palette: red collared shirt, black tie, black trench coat, striped miniskirt, red gloves, alongside the essential ribbed Red stockings and glossy leather shoes. The sharp contrast of these colors creates a powerful visual impact. To fit the character, I ironed the shirt days in advance to ensure there were zero unwanted wrinkles. Because the trench coat is quite long, I specifically chose fabric with excellent drape so it would sway dynamically with my strides, adding an imposing presence. The prop blades were custom lightweight versions, yet holding them aloft for extended periods still left my arms sore. The wolf ears were secured to the wig with black hairpins; to ensure they wouldn't fall off in the bustling convention crowd, I reinforced them with several extra pins. When doing my makeup, I emphasized the eye contours to enhance a cool, aloof gaze, applying long-wear foundation and setting spray since it gets hot and sweaty in crowded halls.

During the shoot, I ran into photographer Hedgehog, and I'm deeply grateful to him for capturing these shots amidst the crowded CPG venue. The convention floor was dark, reflective polished glass with harsh ambient lighting. Hedgehog chose a low-angle upward perspective, utilizing the wide-angle perspective to dramatically elongate my leg lines while flawlessly capturing the reflection of the Red stockings on the glossy floor, adding rich depth to the frame. However, holding a high single-leg lift pose was truly a test of balance: I had to keep my center of gravity steady while maintaining a stoic facial expression and swinging the prop blades. Because the background consisted of massive glass curtain walls and metal grids, light easily fluctuated between bright and dark; Hedgehog adjusted exposure parameters swiftly, preserving the cool-toned high-tech mood of the background while boosting the saturation and details of the red-and-black subject so I wouldn't fade into darkness.

Our "Dual Wolves" duo also had a blast running our nearby booth. Even though we didn't achieve our full Siracusa group goal, cosplaying beloved characters with friends and encountering a photographer like Hedgehog who masters angles and light made the whole convention experience thoroughly fulfilling. Shooting these Convention photos gave me a deeper understanding of dynamic posing—especially for powerful characters—on how to project an authoritative aura through torso twists and focused gazes. Finding a relatively clean backdrop at a busy convention is harder than it seems; we waited through multiple waves of passing crowds. Hedgehog kept analyzing the light, noting that the strong backlighting that day could be turned into an advantage. To make the leg-lift pose sturdier, I stretched beforehand to prevent muscle soreness from breaking my expression. The ribbed Red stockings were accidentally stepped on several times while walking through the venue, but they still photographed with great texture. By the time we wrapped up the set, I was drenched in sweat, but seeing the exposure meter and Hedgehog's growing excitement, I knew we had nailed it. My legs were slightly sore after the long-leg posing, but reviewing the final Convention photos made everything completely worthwhile. This red-and-black Texas cosplay, combined with the reflections on the glass floor, delivered an exceptionally textured result.
