Today I mainly came to help the organizers debug their equipment, and while the on-site lighting wasn't completely finalized yet, I casually snapped a few shots. I paired it with this pink and white outfit featuring a cropped top and layered tulle skirt, along with a magic wand-like prop, making the whole vibe look quite lighthearted. Although it was just a light test, the stylist still put together a complete hairstyle and makeup look, and the cross sequin detail at the corners of the eyes was a huge plus.
For a quick photography equipment sharing moment, the gear used was an a7R3 along with two Viltrox F1.8 prime lenses, specifically the 35mm and 85mm EVO versions. The 35mm lens offers great tension for full-body shots and foreground interaction, while the 85mm is better for half-body close-ups and facial textures, providing clean bokeh even in low-light environments. Since it was a test shoot, most angles were quite casual, mainly to see how the light reacts to the fabric and hair strands.
This kind of fluffy skirt hem really tests the lighting; just a bit of side-backlighting can make the tulle texture look translucent. Additionally, with half-body composition at the 85mm end, the background depth is compressed beautifully, solidly pulling out the main subject even in a cluttered environment like this event venue for these convention photos. However, the mechanical shutter sound is still a bit loud indoors; I'll try the electronic shutter next time.
